Is something wrong with my moniter?

i just had to buy a new Hard drive for my pc becouse my old one was damaged, so after the format and everything thing's have been working really well but recently ive noticed a problem when booting up window's sometime's the moniter change's the colour to "standby" and display's a black screen... first time it did it right away second time it did it on the "loading window's" screen is it a problem with my moniter? my moniter is around 4 year's old so that's what my guess is.

does windows start? or does it stop when the standby comes up? Try wiggling the cord a little. Something like this happened to mine once, turns out the adaptor attached to my monitor cord was broken.

I dunno, i hit restart so it didn't have time to load up window's.
