Huh, so Rin dies? I just entered this thread randomly having no idea what series it was about. -_-; That's too bad, but I thought it was very obvious Sesshoumaru cared for Rin, I mean, why whould he have her around otherwise?

Her "death" certainly isn't meaningless, but I think there's a good possibility she'll somehow be saved.

She will definitly be saved within the upcoming chapters. Sess wouldn't accept any less ;)

As much as I hate to say this - because a part of me still wishes for a miracle to bring Rin back to life - I have a feeling that, this time, Rin is beyond saving. As Brill pointed out in the latest manga chapter thread, Rin's death might have been necessary in order for Sesshoumaru to be able to wield the Meidou Zangetsuha to its full extent; reviving her would negate her sacrifice.

(He also said that Takahashi is on a roll; she has returned to the tragic roots that made InuYasha stand out from her other series. After all, only about four chapters ago, she killed off Kikyou, for good.)

^ It was about time! Took her long enough!

rin wont die.
at the end of the chapter they returned to the normal world. the only reason why he couldnt kill the death demons (whatever they are called with the chains) was because they were already in hell. and i am almost confident when i say that tensaiga has been upgraded.. and what do you know it can revive 2 times!

As it turns out from the latest chapter, Rin is back to life through the power of Sesshoumaru's mother's Meidou-seki.

That's a relief. Rin is one of my favorite characters from InuYasha.

^ I'd like to say "I called it", but we ALL knew that was going to happen :)

Actually I thought it was a done deal. She's already killed her off once.

Wow she's alive...I thought she was done for. But we can't expect nothing less from Sesshomaru, or his mom I should say.

Hooooooly crap. Looks like a lot's been going down in Inuyasha lately. o_o

Wait, what? How does he react?

Wait, what? How does he react? He gets as emotional as it is possible for Sesshoumaru to get - i.e. he actually shows emotion on his face, and he looks both pained and ready to slaughter the nearest breathing creature. Given whom we're talking about here, I think that says enough about how he felt.

u can also dub it as q a fatherly concern, u know...if sesshoumaru had kids of his own and they suffered i think he'd react just the same. as for the other casualty in the recent times, i just hope she's not brought back again under some pretext...like a part of her spirit has remained behind or sth.

Spoiler

I've heard this also but I've also heard that she gets brought back to life by Sesshoumaru's mother.

Honestly, how large of a role did Rin play in the series?

Honestly, how large of a role did Rin play in the series?

She was the first creature (aside from Jaken) whom Sesshoumaru actually seemed to care about. So, she is a symbol of the beginning of his change in character. I think that's her role in the story.

Did they show Sesshoumaru's mother?

Did they show Sesshoumaru's mother?

Indeed they did. Explains a lot about why Sesshomaru looks almost nothing like InuYasha...

As much as I don't read the manga (I really have to start...) I heard this through reading on the internet, and I must say, I was shocked. But then Fluffy was all emotional for once, and I was happy to hear that.

I read this like umm last year? Couple months ago? cant remember. Anyway there is a great video on Youtube about these chapters. I can’t put a link but its called "feels like fear"

When I watched it I flipped. I loved seeing Sesshoumaru get emotional ^.^
