I don't if this is the right fourm to ask this question but if you can help I would like your opinions. I was thinking of becoming a car salesman, I know alot about cars and I think I have a decent selling skill. I was wondering if any schooling is needed or can I just work right out of high school? How much would I be making as a salesman? I hope someone could help me with these qustion:)

haha, why even bother asking on an ANIME forum? I'm sure there's better places to search for occupational info than asking on an anime forum.
All I can say is beware of people hating you the way people hate IRS employees haha

I think it would be more urgent to laugh at the suggestion that being a car salesman would require any sort of schooling higher than a high school diploma or GED, Gasaraki.

Hey, hey, there are a few of us who can get away from anime long enough to have more "professional careers".

Part of me is inclined to agree, in that to land the job you don't need much more than that. However, unless you're [directed to HardRevingBoi] content with getting an open sales position and don't want to progress any further than that outside of possible seniority benefits, I would recommend checking out community college or even cheap, full colleges and look into business management, basic accounting, and marketing. The marketing courses will give you a bit more of an edge to work with a wide variety of clients.

Salary is highly dependent on where you live, work, and whom you work for. Most sales people I know (talked with a few auto sales folks, but mostly large scale corporate/wholesale salesfolks, too) have a component type of salary - they'll often receive a flat rate (variable hourly amount or a flat annual salary) and commission on sales performance. Auto sales is pretty high pressure; usually there is a minimum quota for you to only keep your job. Without really knowing exactly what area you're living in and whom you'd be working for, I can't estimate an exact dollar figure.

You need to also consider what brand you would feel most comfortable selling. Going from a two bit used car lot to a major Texas chain was one hell of a wakeup call.
You work everyday and you have to be willing to put in long hours to make any real money, not to mention your negotiation skills have to be really sharp, otherwise you lose money. I went from that to becoming a cellphone dealer, and truth be told it's very similar.

Why sell cars when you can design, engineer, & test a car before it comes out to the public instead? You can go to college & take Industrial Design if you want to design the way the car looks on the outside & on the inside. If you're more interested in the inner workings of the car like the engine, drivetrain, suspension, body structure / rigidity, & you're good with math & physics, take Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering. I would recommend Mechanical Engineering, since you can do many other things besides cars. (^o^ ) <3
But yeah. I hate automotive salesmen / saleswomen with an unbelievable passion. Hahahaha! ( ^o^) I've dealt with a few before & I'm about to deal with some in a couple of months from now when I go out to buy a new car.
