I dont see the big deal. I got spanked all the time as a kid. For a lot less than that. Not THAT big of a deal.

Well F bombs getting passed censors tend to come with big fines. Actually I probably would be a bit angry that the coach slap my kid for that. Saying the ****, shouldn't be that big of a deal. No one should get in trouble for saying ****. But sadly if I say it here, I'd be banned...... Its just a word, it doesn't hurt anyone. And you getting hit for a lot less than that, thats not right.
In any case, I thought this whole thing was funny.

Heard the fudging but apparently missed the slapping. Whatever. Anywho, if it were my kid, I would probably do the same (well, maybe not the first time around)... Of course, I guess it wasn't the Slapper's child so...sticky, kinda. Anywho, didn't think it was funny. Can't stand undisciplined children. My eggs should be thankful...

By your parents and not your little league coach. Also, people tend to look down upon parents who slap their children.

Well if your profile age is accurate you didn't grow up in that era.

Great there pointing out the obvious and everything....I thought the joke was that I WASN'T Born in that time. Although If I had gone to a Catholic School, I'm sure I'd still get slapped, since I'm such a troublemaker.

Don't see the big deal, they needed "one ****ing run". I want Joey F-Bomb on my team, that kid has passion. What the hell is wrong with that coach.

If it were seniors in high school, I would feel differently. But these are children, who obviously don't know how to act correctly. Coach did the right thing! If I found my children saying that, they should have slapped them.
I'm no prude when it comes to language, and I say some of the dirtiest words possible, but there's a time and place for all of it. A lot of problems with societal relations are in how people carry themselves in public; dropping F-Bombs right and left may get you noticed, but it's no way to command respect from peers.
Coaches (or any sort of youth mentor) are like surrogate parents. When I did martial arts in my youth, I idolized the instructors and to this day that influence has stayed with me and helped mold me into the person I am today. If anything, more of these incidents need to happen. After all, it's not like those pointless brawls between parents on the sidelines.
