Will there be one of these in the near future? I looked around, but I haven't seen one yet, so any idea or news on if they will release one? Since I got Noir, I thought it might be a good idea to get the series of that too.

As of right now there hasn't been any news. ADV seems to release thinpaks about a year after the last disk came out. So in the case of Madlax I would expect a set around April 2007. It's also a safe bet if you liked Noir alot and even better imo.

Well, thread revival FTW. It's been almost a year. No sign of boxset yet? I can't seem to find one...I've been really wanting this too.

Ta-da!

I'm still not sure whether to get this, though, since it's 5 discs long instead of 7 as it was. Additional image compression FTL.

SQUUUEEEE! Tenshi = <3.

Although now that I looked online, I actually found it cheaper on Amazon. Go fig. Since I remember I was in my Noir funk for a long time after I finished that, *hugs boxset* I think I need to get this. I have a habit of buying boxsets before I see the anime, but I love anything by BeeTrain. (Don'tcha love two girls who shoot people?)

I love two girls who shoot people, yes...

I love my Noir box set with 7 discs & a free t-shirt too... but it cost a fortune.

(Calculates) 7 discs cost 4 times as much as 5 discs...

...but everything I have on a 5 disc thinpak looks blocky whenever there's a lot of action on screen, and there's a lot of action in a lot of scenes in Madlax...

...and this time, I won't even get a free t-shirt!

[carries on being undecided, hopes the individual discs drop in price...]

Now then, lets talk about the special easter eggs with the socks. You'll know what I'm talking about.

I'm still not sure whether to get this, though, since it's 5 discs long instead of 7 as it was. Additional image compression FTL.6 episodes (the most on one disc with 26eps/5discs) isn't even 2.5 hours. Along with no extras, there really isn't a space problem. It's no worse then all those 3ep volumes which come on a single layer disc.

And of course ADV is much better than Funimation when it comes to encoding a DVD, so I wouldn't expect compression issues from ADV, unlike Funimation where even on their old DVDs of Dragonball Z with only 3 episodes, you could see macroblocking on parts where there was a lot going on on the screen, like people shooting ki blasts and stuff like that. I'm pretty sure I remember seeing macroblocking on some of the earlier Fullmetal Alchemist DVDs too. :(

Being as i'm a big Noir fan myself and just love it, (Still wear the shirt that came with one of the volumes in the box) I have been looking for that set also. I'm gonna buy it pretty soon probably. I've just been looking for the best price. Yes, I love 2 girls who shoot people :naughty:

Escuse me about the off-topic question: Does the Noir ThinPack include special features?

Yes it includes all the extras the original DVDs had.
