View Full Version : Are you a neat freak?

I was wondering if any of you are considered neat-freaks, in that you much prefer to keep things clean and in order.

Whenever my room is a mess, I often go bonkers and clean it up as neatly as possible. This includes having my bed sheets put on perfectly, making sure the floor is perfectly spotless and having my DVD's\CD's on the shelf in order. I let certain things slide depending on my mood, but I usually function better when my environment isn't dirty.

Yes and no.

Things like people not flushing the toilet when they're done using the bathroom, or carelessly throwing a piece of trash in a middle of a room, make me mad.

On the other hand, I don't really care how items in drawers are kept, so long as there's a method to the madness...

So I like being clean, but I hate being anal.

I am on occasions. I guess I'm what you can call a lazy perfectionist.

Nah, my room's a mess... There's clothes piled up... Paperworks are everywhere... The chords from my PS2, GC, SNES, PS1, TV, extensions, lamps are all visible and get tagled up a lot...

Although I organize and sort my DVDs, CDs, books and magazines in a very manageable order...

Oh man, the WORST is when they don't wash their hands after using the restroom.... I pretty much lose appetite and get disgusted to even touch the doorknobs in restaurants whenever I see one...

^ Doesn't bother me much, because over a lifetime, an average man will have touched enough hands that belong to guys that "pulled their pork" without washing their hands.

But not properly disposing of your own highly visible waste is just plain disgusting. Can't stand it.

I've always been a neat freak. My mom has never told me to clean my room, even when I was a little kid.

Yeah, I figured that out--I don't even try to think about it... But I love eating out and it's so unsanitary in restaurants... (I party blame Seinfeld's Poppie) And that's why I always wash my hands before I eat anything...

I'm not a neat freak. I have dust, boxes and, papers everywhere. I don't like my clothes on the floor though.

Neat? yeah.

Anal? no.

since I'm getting on in my senior years, I've decided to not let the small things bug me to death. I've got better things to do with my time.

Like...stalking all of you.

Both my mom and lil sister are neat freaks. If there's anything on my sister's bed like paper or anything small she'll scream at you and puts it on my bed and if there's a brush or very few clothes on the floor,my mom would ask if i like living like a pig. What a cruel mother.

*Looks at room*
*Sees a tent he tried to put up but failed, pile of CD's with no CD wall rack, and numerous odd socks on the floor*
Neat freak? no, not really. I tidy my room, and tidy around.
I'm no neat freak, but I am a perfectionist, so when I do, it's done well.

I used to work in a movie theater, and one of my duties was keeping the restroom sanitary or clean. You would not believe how many people did not wash their hands after taking a whizz. There were times I felt like following them and telling their wives or girlfriends that"your man did not wash his hands." But my better judgment told me that was going too far..
I can be a neat freak, and sometimes not..

I am a daughter of a neat freak. Its tough sometimes. Everyone in my family panicks when my mom comes to visit. Myself included. She is a great lady but just that initial dissaproving gaze terrifies my sister in law.
My brother once told me, that I clean just as good as my mom, but not often as her. So, no, not a neat freak.

Ditto. The place can be a bomb site, but then I'll just get the neat bug and clean up til everything is spic n span... and then slowly watch it degrade again XD

I can be a neat freak, and sometimes not..Oh, man movie theatres are one of the worst, especially after the onslaught of movie goers needing to explode after a long movie...

I like the idea of putting the sink outside of the restroom so people can see if they washed their hands or not... (I saw it on TV)

Nay

I am not a slob either. I'm on the fence for J vs. P.

I am the daughter of a neat freak as well. Compared to my mother, EVERYBODY is a Perceiver.

Not really. My room's usually a mess, but it's just clothes and books and such, not anything decomposable or crusty or anything you'd need to wash your hands violently after touching.

I tend to be a bit obsessive about washing my hands, though...

I try to keep my room neat, but that usally fails quickly. I work on my computer alot both on hardware and software wise. I tend to always have wires lying around, I always seem to step on few of my screw drivers when I'm done working on the hardware, cd cases scattered, printed doucments. I could go on but you pretty much get the idea.

I try to clean atleast once a week.

I like things to be clean and tidy, but I can't say that I'm a neat freak. I do live with a neat freak tho (My dad) >_< If I see things starting to look messy sure I'll clean it up some, but I don't go all nutty over making it absolutely spotless. That's just craziness.

Um...yeah, kind of. I hate dirt...and clean often. Can't help it--force of habit *tidies up the computer desk*

I like a clean house, a very clean house. I'm also a perfectionist--and competitive (but that is another story altogether)

I don't need things clean just organized.

I have a certain amount of discipline. My room is clean and organized, but in my own way. If someone who entered my room and saw the mound of papers , books and various paraphernalia (I have an uncanny Collector of the Useless mindset) lying on my desks and floor, including the few clothes on said floor, he wouldn't guess I could be organized. However, move something half a foot from where I put it and I couldn't find it even if it was right in front of me.

Not really, I can be organized about certain things, but I tend to just toss things around my basement. On my desk, on my computer or on my floor, where ever I see an open space I'll toss stuff.

If I have a room I actually care about (ex: my old bedroom), I like to keep it looking awesome. I am not overly clean, but I like it to be presentable at all times.

Right now, I am residing in a room I don't care about. It looks like a disaster at the moment, but I do clean it up pretty often. It may look nice at first glance, but when you look under the bed, open the closet, look in the drawers....things get dangerous FAST.

I am a bit of a neat freak about some things.
My hands must always be clean. My room should be clean between Friday evening and Monday morning any other days of the week i don't really care. My music collection is pretty well organized, cds and on the comp. Oh and when it comes to clothing it must be clean and ironed when I wear it but I don't mind it getting a little messed up throughout the day.

Yeah, I'm a clean neat freak.

For the most part I keep my room clean.

Always clean up my own mess whether I'm cooking, or its the aftermath of having a few friends over.

My sister was a slob, she recently moved out and we have a clean house again. I can't stand living with people who don't pick up after themselves.

Whats gold is when they finally decide to pickup after themselves once in a blue moon, and think they run the place and criticize you for anything you don't pickup no matter how minor.

i'm only a neat freak with my electronics, cds, dvds and so on. i'm actually really obsessive about the conditions of the discs, there cases and how they are ordered. if they fall out of order for any reason i can spend hours wiping any dust off, re-organizing by a different system*sometimes multiple times before i'll get one i like*

you'd never guess i'm like that from the stuff all over my floor.haha

Exactly. Except sometimes I forget where I put things, and then I mess up my room even more in the process. And I have this weird thing where I like to watch anime in a clean room, so I'll clean it to watch a DVD, and then mess it up again.

Same with me. It's like I have to ensure that I have a good time by having things already neat and orderly. Any type of mess I notice actually makes me get out of the movie-watching mood and into a cleaning one. ;)

Yeah, I'll do the same if I get a new video game. I'll clean my room, get a small table, put my snacks on it, and have fun. Cant seem to do it if its dirty.

Um.. depends. If anyone saw my bedroom photo from the abode thread, you can have an idea my bedroom is a pig sty and I'm too lazy and disorganized to really fix it. I actually bothered to vaccum the floor yesterday because it got flooded by rainwater.. again. ¬¬

I also took the annoyances to clean up my second fish tank since I'm not using it anymore now that we can't find any more tadpoles to rescue.

But there are things I'm a complete neat freak: like my bedroom door. I can't stand the creaking sound it makes when it's open and the wind is blowing. It drives me nuts. I really like to kick that bastard door hard when the racket is just too much.

Depends really...i often have clothes and such thrown about, my bed is never made, and my desk is covered with papers...(normally, i don't have time to bother with my busy schedule)...I normally pick a Saturday when things slow down and do it all in one shot.

However, when it comes to my toys (electronics, vidgames, and dvds) Im super anal about their condition and placement. I notice when something is slightly out of place...

The only things i like to keep consistantly clean are the kitchen and the bathroom. I can't cook in filth, and I can't "take care of business" in filth. I LOVE CLOROX WIPES!
