Pity I live nowhere near there. I haven't seen enough of the series to watch it yet without it ruining anything though, but I'd love to see it. It sounds cool!

Is it going to come out in theaters in any other countries? I really, really hope it does or else I'll never see it on the big screen.

Well it won't be coming to theaters around here. I heard that it will be only played in select cities around the country. Pittsburgh is the biggest city near here and I doubt they'd play it there but who knows.

My only question is if the theater showing the movie in my state will show it subbed at any time (I've been trying to find out, but the number given is apparently a fan number X_X). I'm not getting my hopes up, but I still really want to know. I would LOVE to see FMA on the big screen, but only in Japanese.

I don't even think they'll show it anywhere in my state. :( Does anyone happen to know where I can find a list of the states that are actually going to show it? That would be helpful.

I saw it today, dubbed unfortunately. The person at the desk said it sounded like it would be subbed, but it wasn't. I really, really wish I could've seen it in Japanese on the big screen, but that can't be helped I guess. >_<
I thought the dub, looking at it as it is, was overall a decent one, but my own personal opinion of it is lower. I'd rate the dub maybe a *** of ***** for how good it is, but more like a ** of ***** for my own opinion. The acting was mostly pretty good, though the villainess' and Winry's voicers could've used some work. I thought some voices like Mustang, Hawkeye, and Armstrong seemed pretty good, but yappari, I just can't get into Vic Mignogna's Edward. Don't get me wrong, I really, really like and respect him as a person (and brother in the Lord ^^), but he was just the wrong choice for Ed. He gets into the character which is good, but the voice is just all wrong. It's far too deep. Now I don't expect him to sound like Paku Romi (I know that he at first even tried to sound like her, but when it failed he made up a whole new voice when he dubbed the show), this I blame on Funi for poor casting there (not that he's a bad actor, but rather he was a bad choice for Ed). And granted, it isn't all for naught; I loved his insight on Ed's character and on FMA itself. But as for his performance on Ed, it just doesn't work. He also seems to give him this arrogant, snotty kind of way of talking that just sounds wrong and even annoying at times. And granted, he has a huge mountain to climb when the Paku Romi did such a perfect job as the character. But when it comes down to it, at least IMO, no one can replace Paku as Ed. As I see it, she IS Ed's voice.
Much the same thing can be said for Al. His dub voice was ok, but no where near as good as Kugimiya Rie. He didn't bring out the character like Kugimiya-san did. Kugimiya-san perfectly brough out his gentle, kind spirit and personality, and his gigantic heart.
Sadly, Ed and Al dubbed just felt like different characters to me. I just couldn't get into it. Winry voice also sadly left alot to be desired. But then all of this is my view, and as I always say, if someone likes the dub, that's fine, I just didn't think much of it.
But overall, it was a fun experience, and I now more eagerly than ever await my LE DVD.

That's really cool that you got to go see the movie. Your opinion on it sounded fair. I can't wait to see the movie myself, but knowing my luck the first time I see it will be on DVD and not a theater which is ok. I'd really like to see it up on big screen tho.

I would have liked to have seen it in theaters, but I haven't even seen the end of the tv series. I don't like to watch things out of order.
I am looking forward to getting the LE set. The artwork for the box looks awesome.

The movie was great! The dub was on par with funimation's other series. I feel that the funsub I watched last year was better as far as the voice overs, but carmike screened them in Digital DLP and it looked AMAZING. Can't wait for the LE DVD.
I love ed
