I sugguested to the mods lately that we try a "Japanese Forum" for Japanese readers-speakers, like the Spanish forum in General Anime. So they sugguested that I try treading the waters with a speak Japanese. Beginers welcome.

I'll start off with my mangled Japanese. Don't laugh me off the internet.

I've never had a problem by typing up my Japanese in a seperate word processor and copy-paste into the forum windows here. I use that for practically everything.

I cant read most of the Kanji she wrote but it looks like she was saying something about not getting the expressions right in Japanese, and that it's good to have a Japanese person help her? The last part says Kiyomi-san, thanks in advance.

Mercuric What kind of computer is it? PC? windows version?

I'm using XP Pro:
All I had to do was install asian characters from the Regional and Language settings, then under the "Text services and input languages" section I hit details then added the Japanese IME and enabled the language bar. One my cursor is inside the post box, I just click on the language bar and change it from "EN" to "JP" then change the button that looks like an A into Hiragana.

I'm nowhere near pro, though to get there is my goal. .^^; I've just taken two years of classes, though I had learned most of the material on my own already. And I'm lucky to have Japanese friends online whom I can talk to often.

I have to disagree. I've seen 私 dozens of places as being first and foremost "watashi" with "watakushi" being the more formal version, with other variations such as "atashi". The link from the Wiki page you posted even says that:

I think just by the context of the sentence, that somebody would see it as Watakushi first rather than watashi, such as when a President or Emperor is speaking or something.

Also, my Japanese tutor was born and lived in Japan for 25-30 years before she moved to Texas. She says the same thing as those websites, that it's watashi or watakushi if more polite.

I became comfortable with the language (not feeling embarrassed, nuance, connectors (nanka, nanteiuka, ma, etc) ) by making friends in Japan.
I think staying in Japan is the best way to master that.
I luckily became friends with 5 guys who are my best friends now the first day that I came to Japan last yr. So I had no choice but to become comfortable with the many aspects of the language, as I hung out with them almost all day everyday.

ちょっと違います。佐賀市の国際交流員です。具体的に言うと、通訳･翻訳･イベントな どが主な仕事ですね。

ちなみに、今朝パラオ共和国の大統領からの手紙を翻訳しました。佐賀の市長がパラオ共 和国の国立記念祭に誘われて、行くことになればもしかして通訳者として僕も行くことに なるかもしれませんから一日中南島の夢を見ちゃっていました。九州でダイビングするよ りはるかに安そうだし。

パラオは3年くらい前に行きました。私はダイビングはできないけど、ものすごく綺麗で した。
あそこはおすすめですね。日本語が通じるし。^_^
Maldivesも好きなんですけど、日本からちょっと遠いですからね。
