Final Fantasy's Amano to appear

Yoshitaka Amano, the world reknowned artist best known for his concept artwork for many of the games in the Final Fantasy series, as well the anime classic Vampire Hunter D, will be the guest of honor at METROCON: Amano's World. Other confirmed guests include artist/voice actor Doug Smith, Steve Bennett, and Lauren Goodnight.

I just bought his "The tale of Genji" artbook the other day. He's such an expressive artist. Everything is imbued with such life. Everything is so dynamic.

BTW in these parts, let us give him recognition where it is due: Character Designs for Gatchaman, Casshan, Tekkaman, etc. Even though it's all such a long time ago, that's some more wonderful and memorable artwork from him.

I just noticed Borders Books carries Amano's Fairies artbook. I honestly dont care for his art at all. I appreciate the work he puts into it, but I really just dont like the style. Regardless, the book is at some Border's Books if anybody's interested ^__^
