Okay anyone knows any other anime like Rahxephon? With solid plot and characters?

Eureka 7 imo came close. Really close, but I think the ending was definitely weaker and didn't have as much as umph or even "wit" like Rahxephon does :) I mean who'd have thought the entire story just suddenly unravel at the ending that's some plot twist!

Also if you know any romantic anime that has a strong timeless, sentimental, longing like Rahxpehon please recommend some to me. Because let's face it there's only one like Rahxephon :) and it's ended.

So what's next?

Nope, there is none :) If there was, I'd know. I suggest trying Fafner though. It's far less mature and way more mainstream, but it has a strong plot, fantastic animation and great music.

and like all his other work, the most annoying character designs ever. Fafner kinda bothered me, I don't even understand why I wasted time finishing it =/

They were alright in Ryvuis, nice in Scryed, became annoying in SEED and was just bs in Fafner.

If you didn't already watch Kimagure Orange Road, now is your last chance. It's not what I'd call comparable to RahXephon in terms of the overall package, but in terms of romance, it always hits the right spot for me. It's kind of a juvenile teen romance, but it's a lot of fun, and it always leaves me with that kind of yearning, aching feeling deep in my chest. It's very bittersweet.

Revolutionary Girl Utena-deals with the same themes and is as good as Rahxephon.
