Just noticed that Right Stuf has announced a KareKano Thinpak, but on their "official press release" and their online store, it looks like it is just the same set repackaged. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I have heard that episode 18 (the famous/infamous sex episode) was partially edited.

So I would like to know
1) is this true? what is edited?
2) at Otakon '05 they mentioned an idea for a remade/refurbished/unedited ultimate boxset. any chance of that rubbing off onto the thinpak? or is that a dead thought?

might be more, but I cant think of anything else now.

Spolier if you havent seen the series before....

Apparently when Arima and Yukino have sex, they showed a little bit more on the japanese release, over here it was slightly edited. Not totally sure how much of that is true, but thats what i've read on many sites/boards.

I've heard something similar, that it has a frosted glass type filter going on, so you can't see whats happending, I don't know anything about an "uncut" copy ever making it here. Having never seen the series myself, I really can't say if it's a big deal or not.

im a big fan of the series, and i dont really remember seeing anything 'extra' in the scene at all when i originally saw it... but its not like it was a long scene or anything. it was mostly implied from what i remember. im very interested to see if the cut for her was definitely edited though...

They put out Comic Party, not sure how the dub is I've only listened to the Japanese.

This is a cheap release of what's already out. It's not remastered and still has the very, very slightly edited version of that episode*. If it was remastered or contained new footage, it would cost a lot more than it does and the solicitation would mention it.

*It's worth pointing out for anyone who might not know that RS didn't edit the scene. It's what the Japanese sent them. I also think the recap episode contains different music than what was originally aired.
