G Gundam or Gundam X. which is better and why?

G Gundam because it doesn't take itself too seriously and have a major dip in quality like X.

G Gundam because its a lot more fun and since I like Super Robots this show is a throwback to those shows. Just with Gundams. And the characters have a little more life and actual purpose to them. X had a few here and there and the episodes were not always as good as G Gundam. And if I remember correctly, G Gundam had no filler episodes for being a 50 episode series. Which is always a good thing.

Overall, G Gundam wins. Its got excellent characters, nice mech designs and probably the best love story in all of Gundam. X is very good in its own way, but its not on the same level.

Episode 45 of G is one of the best eps in all of Gundam.

Gundam X for me. Maybe I would feel differently if I rewatched it now, but I didn't particularly care for G Gundam when I saw it back when it was on Cartoon Network. I saw all but a few episodes and I haven't really been inspired to buy the DVDs. I may get them the next time they are on special or there is a Bandai sale though.

G Gundam. The story made more sense to me and a lot of the gundams looked cool. I felt that X's designs copied off too much from Wing (minus originality points), I'd probably think differently if it was the alternate to Wing instead of MSG. That and I don't like how Garrod looks. :P

G Gundam - I've watched about half of each series (all of G on CN but I don't count that), and overall I prefer G Gundam. I like the characters more and it's fun to watch. Gundam X is good, but I don't think it's as good as X.

I'm going to join the minority and say Gundam X. X never did live up to its potential, but I enjoyed it much more than G. G was an okay show, but it wasn't really a Gundam show in my opinion, and I was never really a fan of the super-robot style, so I never found it appealling.

Well, not really "all the way", because I also like G, but I choose X. It's one of the only animes (or, heck, fiction works in general) which didn't make me hate the love story, and it just had an incredible cast, though G Gundam usually beats it as far as 1 episode characters go. Besides, G Gundam somehow was even slower than X...

I'm going with G, but thats because I haven't seen X yet. If it was any other series, I'd probably vote against G. It isn't to say G isn't a good show, it is, but it is a super robot show. And Gundam is a real robot series. So G sort of breaks the Gundam mold a bit. Personally almost all Gundam series are more Gundam than G.

I seen both shows (G Gundam and Gundam X) already, out of the two; I would prefer Mobile fighter G Gundam. It has a good storyline than Gundam X.

Haven't watched X yet. I enjoyed G. It's over the top and not realistic, but it has a nice love story.

I have X on my hard drive, but haven't seen it beyond the first episode or so. Yet still I vote for it over G(ay) Gundam because G Gundam is such a terrible show. I first encountered the show unsubtitled in Japan years ago and the goofiness would've fit something like Ranma 1/2 or something. Gundam X, while not UC Gundam, is the closest in spirit to UC Gundam out of all the unofficial timeline Gundam shows, I've heard. Even if Gundam X falls flat, I just despise G Gundam. IIRC, there's a character who can punch a giant robot with his fists. If I want to watch a show that's a throwback to old giant robot series, there are plenty of other ones that aren't so obnoxious.

:ph34r: i personally prefer G Gundam, only due to the fact of the controll of the gundam is a much better one. intead of pressing buttons and moving joysticks, they actually dawn a cyber-suit and controll the gundams movement that way. they basiclly fight, just on much bigger terms. and i can dig that any 'ol day of the week.

I think their both equally great in their own ways. But I liked X slightly more. I just wish it wasn't rushed at the end. I can only take so much super robot and that is what G is all about.

G Gundam. GX is great, but it's got some glaring flaws like the fact that it was cancelled and cut short, or that the story wasn't particularly cohesive or well-planned, and of course, Newtype dolphins.
