With the amount of "research" and thinking that some guys put into Evangelion, we sometimes forget that it is just a show. So, with that in mind, what was your favourite episode for whatever reason. Favourite arc*? Favourite episode per arc*?

I like the entire Descent Arc in general, for no real particular reason other than the fact that it was the most desperate and the most violent (quantity-wise) stuff of NGETV.

Now that I think about it, my favourite individual episode would have to be a tie between 4 and 15, since they were still within the Prelude and Action Arc, but seemed so different from the other episodes (mainly, no Angel-killing).

I agree I adore those two episodes especially four.

To have an entire episode devoted to a character wandering around so early in a series strikes me as very innovative.

It's so atmospheric as well. Try watching episode 4 on your own in the dark.It makes a real difference and I discovered that accidently.

AS of now....
Episodes 6, 16, 19, 20, and 24 are my favorites. They left me with the most memories (which 'm happy to rekindle as I prepare to rewatch the series soon.)
If I had to pick a favorite, it'd be 24 (WHY you ask?), with 6 in second.

Fave arc? I'd say the prologue and action arcs, which don't serve to torture the characters and by extension the audiance. Gimme *** kicking and no apologies and I'm as happy as pigs in the proverbial.

Episode 16 definitely. I loved the series, but that was the point where I really sat back and said, damn, this is really something different!

Plus Misato b****-slaps Ritsuko! And Rei comes so close to doing the same to Asuka, but we only get a verbal b****-slap. Which is almost as good. ;)

Episode 26, absolutely. It's so existential, it's right up my alley. Sometimes I think Evangelion ep. 26 should be required viewing for everyone on Earth.

"The splitting of the breast" is probably visually the best episode in the series for me.
