I just DLed bittorrent, and I'm in the process of DLing something, but it's taking forever! It's been at 0.0% for about 10 minutes now, and my computer isn't too slow. Can anybody help? ^_^

forward your ports. It's part of router configuration.
www.portforward.com
EDIT: only forward the ports that your BiTorrent client uses.

I have a D Link router, but I have no idea what kind, if there are different kinds. They have a lot of links under D Link on that site.
It says it has 14 days now. :(

I'm using utorrent too and I"m happy withit. I liked Bitorrent, but it started bugging out on me and I couldn't be bothered to fix it with all the parameters that didn't work <.<.

I woke up this morning for school and, it's finally making progress! It says it has like 7hrs 45min left, so it should be done shortly after I get home from school. Thats still uber slow, but at least it's moving. ^_^

Your download speed is limited by the other people in the swarm. They are the ones who are uploading the pieces that you are downloading, so their upload speed limits how fast each peer can download. Bittorrent is only lightening-fast when your swarm has hundreds of peers and seeds.

Try here http://computershopper.com/howto/200605_bittorrent_for_beginners_1 If you use Bittorrent's site they'll give you an estimation of how long it will take to download.
