Updates on Acen 07

for those who live within the chicago city limits or live close to Illinois I just want to remind you that Acen 07 will be May 11-13 same place as last year. Well I can't wait for next year to come....
especially when He returns.

Cool, I went this year and had a wonderful time at ACEN. I thought the hotel was really nice, I picked up lots of goodies in the dealer's room, and just had a blast. I'll probably fly up from St. Louis next year for ACEN 2007. I hear it's the 15th Anime Central, so hopefully they'll really gear up and make a great show for everyone! But next it's Anime Weekend Atlanta... one more month, can't wait!

Next year would be the 10th anniversary year.

I went to '06, and Im hoping to get a room at the Hyatt this time, instead of the Embassy. (that skywalk was amazing and long) Im disappointed that I didnt get to do everything I wanted to or go to some panels, but '07 should be more planned out. Also, I heard it wasnt a very up-to-par year, but as a new con-goer I wasnt able to tell the difference.

Anyone cosplaying? Im working on an Allen Walker (D.Gray-man) costume & Nami (One Piece, Water 7 arc).

Maybe AN could have a booth this year, and members could meet. :)

Thanks for the heads-up. Nice to know this is at the Hyatt O'Hare again....for the 4th year in a row (for me). A good centralized location for those out of town like myself, and it allows one to do some exploring around Chicagoland, should they need a break from all the convention craziness.

Seems I got to this thread a bit late...it's aged almost a month. Been busy so I haven't kept up on all the forums other than the 'general anime' one.

I think two cosplays (a 3rd if you count my ill-executed Keitaro of Love Hina from '04) is enough for me. I'll just bring those two CCS (Syaoran Li and Eriol Hiiragizawa) likenesses back. I had fun with those. I'd rather have more cash to spend in the dealer area than to blow it on another costume.

Yes. I can't wait till Acen 07. The past 2 cons have pretty good, so I expect the same from Acen 07.

Me and my friend from Maryland might be working on a couple of Slayers costumes to Cosplay this year. Will be my first convention and I hope I'll meet some cool people.

I had a great time at ACen last May, and then AWA last weekend. ACen is a bit more realistic for me in terms of being able to go - Chicago is only about 45 minutes by plane from St. Louis, the shuttle to the hotel is free. AWA was a bit pricier because I added a couple of extra days on, which of course results in buying extra food, not to mention the higher hotel rates and the flying expenses. It was worth it, sure, but a guy can go broke doing that kind of thing. So ACen, which was really very similar in feel to AWA, I think, is likely to become my "annual event" con. I'm already looking forward to May.
