Can anyone tell me what they're called translated, and more so, where to buy them (you can PM me that if it can't be posted here)?

Gashapon.... I have seen some at my comic store...other than that, you will have to check internet sites.
I guess they translate too...capsule figures? or soemthing like that....I haven't heard another name for them.

At Waldenbooks, they have some Naruto Gashapon if you look in the manga section. It comes in a little box like those do. They aren't the same ones as those, but they are similar. It couldn't tell which one I was getting (they boxes aren't marked....It think the point is for trading them). I was quite happy when it turned out to be Sasuke, haha.

i recommend doign searches on eBay. either "Naruto gashapon" or "Naruto trading figures". You'll get some bigger and clearer pics, so you can tell what you like for sure. there are many different sets of these out there. I collected the kind they are now selling at Waldenbooks when they were released in Japan. I liked them better because they seemed to have more detail. The link you posted above, i felt a few of them ended up coming out sloppy looking, and no where near the quality of the promo pictures. but its worth checking into, you just might like them. but definitely find higher quality pictures before you decide.

Gashapon is onomatopaeic for the sound that is made by the capsule machine releasing a toy.
