What are your favorite extras that came with a DVD, boxset, or artbox??
I think my favorite is the pencil sharpener figures that came with the Zeta Gundam boxset.

I rarely ever get non-DVD extras with my purchases, but I still have my Black Escaflowne figure standing above my computer.
As for DVD extras, I really liked the Berserk outtakes on each volume.

The Azumanga Daioh pins that came with the original boxset and subsequent DVD volumes were a nice tidbit to have.
As far as extras 'on' the DVD, the World of Narue collection takes the cake. Commentaries by the English/Japanese VA/Director, original Japanese source material, manga comparisons, and other miscellaneous extras were included.

For me, it would have to be the 10 double-sided pencilboards that came with the Fushigi Yugi: Eikoden LE. Close second would be the Scrapped Princess figures.
Edit: One more I just thought of. The 13 postcards that came with the final volume of Last Exile. I love the artwork on those cards.

Shitajiki
s-CRY-ed necklace
s-CRY-ed cards
Reversible covers
Soundtracks
Vampire Miyu charm (but I don't like the quality or how thick it is)
The first press puzzle that came with the Sailor Moon Sailor Stars R2 DVD's are nice, too. (I have the one for volume 2)

Mine were the booklets that come with each Fullmetal Alchemist dvd, the pencilboards and booklet that came with Haibane Renmei, and the cell cards in the Kyo Kara Maoh dvds.

-any figures included are great, such as the Black Escaflowne (would've preferred the original white though) and Rushuna (Grenadier). i really wish they made that pillowcase :(
-all the goodies in the Boogiepop Phantom Ultra boxset
-wallcloths from Gunslinger Girl and Kamichu are awesome, and the boxes are too
-pencilboards from Sakura Wars Movie (came w/ no Sakura but an extra of someone else! :$%&#!: ) and Fushigi Yugi Eikoden
stuff i'm missing/wish i had:
-Mia standee from Kaleido Star for a complete set (bought #2 used and didn't come with it)
-Najica panty (just to say i have it)
i'm not too keen on soundtracks since i only like a couple of songs and sometimes the BGM i do like isn't included. favorite "on disc" extra is the Previews, i like to see what's coming up and it's the first thing i look at when i pop in a disc.

The figures that came with the Zeta Gundam LE set and Scrapped Princess LE DVDs were nice. It's a pity Bandai only gave us two of the big SP figures (no large Shannon figure :( ) and for some reason thought we would want small figures of the characters we already had large versions of instead of the bikini figures.
For an overall great extras package I liked Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi.
- hilarious "outtakes" (technically not outtakes as they were scripted, but they were hilarious, IMO)
- ADVidnotes
- 8-10 page "Abeno Times" booklet with each volume
Fruits Basket was pretty good as well with all the on-disc extras.

Not sure regarding my favorite Artbox but as far as favorite extras it would be Azumanga daioh last DVD 2 minute special. I also really liked the mini episodes located on the comic party DVDs.

-kamichu pencil boards (first pencil boards I've ever owned) and the mini scroll was pretty cool the box is pretty sweet too actually.
-the Goku and Vegeta figures that came with the ultimate uncut blah blah blah edition boxsets 1&2 of DBZ
as for on dvd extras my favorite is probably the omake on blue seed the "traditional japanese breakfast" one cracks me up for some reason

The Noir T-shirt that you get when you buy the special Art Box along with the first DVD. Although that became pointless, since I bought the Think Pack box set some time later. But the shirt rocks. I love it.
That, and the Project A-ko soundtrack I got with the DVD. Tis' nice.

The only extra I've gotten that I actually like is the hat that came with Desert Punk vol. 1.

Extras? Hmm. I never buy for packaging, and I normally don't watch the DVD extras, which tend to be very dub-centric. The only ones I can even remember are:
- The pig-Latin subtitles on the Puni Puni Poemy DVD, which were hilarious.
- The ship designs and supplemental encyclopedic materials on the Star Blazers DVDs
- The character concept designs on the Ranma 1/2 DVDs
All of them were worth watching once. That's it. If it would lower my DVD price by $1 / disc to leave them off, I wish they'd leave them off.

I love the small Aoi figure that comes with Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi vol. 1 w/ box, but Aoi is also my all time favorite anime character (probably out of fiction in general, for that matter).
I also can't wait to get Naruto Uncut box 1 LE and get the Konoha forehead protector, that's so awesome. ^^
The Beads of Subjugation necklace that accompanies the Inuyasha box 1 LE is also right up there, and the Japanese import hanko blocks with box 2 LE are nice too (and I'm looking forward to the Shikon Jewel Shard necklace coming with my box 3 LE).
And of course, you can't possibly go wrong with DVDs including soundtracks as extras (like the FMA tins and the Wolf's Rain box set).

The only DVDs that I've purchased that came with extras were GitS: SAC and V.1 of Ah! My Goddess. All of the extras that came with GitS are nice with my favorites being the soundtracks. I can't wait until 2nd Gig V.7 LE so I can get the final soundtrack and the box for 2nd Gig. The A!MG extra was a nice Belldandy cell phone strap and I also liked the disc extra explaining the goddesses powers.

Colorful, high quality and informative little booklets. Those are the best non-DVD extras.

The Zeta Gundam sharpener collection was a great extra, especially considering that the collection sells for around $40. So having that as a free extra was nice. Bandai put a lot of effort into its release as far as extras go.

I love DVD's and boxsets that have pencil boards in them. Some of them that had them would be some of the individual releases of Cardcaptor Sakura and the special edition release Fushigi Yuugi Eikoden. They are so beautiful and shiney with so much vibrant and vivid art and at such a size perfect for putting them on display. I wish more of them had pencil boards too. I know there out there somewhere, I guess I just have to find them. :P
Another more common extra I like in boxsets are character booklets!! I find them to be quite informative; not to mention a great collectable in itself. Speaking of which, I also remember getting a Chobits limited edition boxset w/vol. 1 with a Persocom Stationery Set that I thought was so pretty. A rare collectable that I still have it to this day!! ^_^

Bingo. I actually even liked the characters doing the FBI warnings. Those DVDs are the kinna thing that need to be the standard for showing companies how to deter people from just downloading the show on the net.
This wasn't a DVD extra, but because it's sitting right out in front of me I have to mention the ROD TV post-it notes cube they gave away at Otakon in 2004.

To be honest, the only real audio-visual special features I like are the product advertisements, such as adverts when an OAV was originally released or theatrical trailers. I would imagine some nice commercials for TV series exist, but I've yet to see any that I am aware of...
99% of special fetures that they put on discs now pretty much go unviewed by me.
