Five new titles? Seems yaoi has come a long way from just being released one or two times in two years. :naughty:

Ripped from animesuki.com topic:

"Introducing the series participating in this lil yaoi craze...

Ikoku Irokoi Romantan - Series by Ayano Yamane.

'Ranmaru and Kaoru are honeymooning in Italy to celebrate their arranged marriage. They try to put on a good face in public for the good of their yakuza families, but they really make each other miserable. Kaoru-chan is looking forward to cruising for hot Italian guys, but high-tempered Ranmaru ends up landing the hottest Italian guy of them all; the captain of their cruise ship, who happens to have a Japanese fetish. Well, someone has to protect Ranmaru from all the crazy gaijin...' - Summary credits to Aqua House.

I would've posted the manga cover, but I'm afraid it may be too scandalous to some forumers.

Kirei Papa - Series by Takagi Ryou.

'Extremely young daddy Chisato is so over-protective of his son that he wants nothing more than to spirit away his son's friends (predators), usually by poisoning them. There was one guy who always seem to be ahead of Chisato by one step - and the fact that he's not interested in the son, but Chisato himself, may very well work to his advantage.' ( )

Cover here.

Okane ga Nai - Series by Kousaka Tohru.

'Okane Ga Nai is a story that asks the simple question: if someone dear to you was in debt, just what would you do to pay it back? Ayase Yukiya, in order to pay off his dear cousin's debt, sold his body at an action for well over $120 mil. And who bought him? Somoku Kanou, a man that runs a huge (and rather rich) company and buys Ayase, seemingly familiar with the young man. But now that means Ayase is indebted to Kanou and knows no way to pay for it. Kanou offers a way: everytime Ayase sleeps with him, he'll take off a chunk of the debt owed to him. At first it's horrible to Ayase and the thought of sleeping with a man scares him to no end, but as the pair shares, their love grows and soon blossoms into something else...' - Summary credits to Minitokyo.

Winter Cicada - series by Youka Nitta

Should mention that this isn't Haru wo Daideita, but an actual movie of the film that both Iwaki and Katou played. So you're watching an anime based on that movie in Haru. 8D Due to come out next year. Couldn't find a summary but...

'The relationship between the two is less physical, but more spiritual/platonic (at least at the beginning,) which convinced me of their love even more. Haru Daki is a rare piece of work that really made me feel the love. (Most works just keep saying it, but I don't really see it.) The confession, the separation and wait, and the tragic love/ending were all perfectly executed in Winter Cicada. It's a wonderful stand-alone story.' - Opinion credits to kmarcello of Youka Nitta LJ com.

Boku no Pico - Series by unknown.

It's shota porn."

Ah, look who's here! *___* Matt, dear, if you're so against this sub-genre, then to save everyone the trouble, I suggest you get yourself a livejournal so you can angst and wank about it freely as you please. :naughty:

Wow, news travels fast. I posted about this (Ikoku, Kire Papa., OgN) on the Yamane Ayano and Crimson Evening communities on LJ yesterday and then the same news pops up here afterwards. X.D How funny.

I absolutely can't wait for the Ikoku Irokoi Romantan OVA. Mrawr~

I don't see how they're gonna make Okane ga Nai into a TV series without changing the story though... I mean, what's really left if you take out all the sex?

I've just finished watching Boku no Pico (that shota yaoi anime released two days ago.)

ZOMG, it's just so wrong on so many levels, and it knows. The depiction of sex scenes were merciless, and the only yaoi anime that I know of to reach this level was Sensitive Pornograph. There was lack of dialogue, and utterly straight to the point: porn. It's not as massively outrageous as some hentai series with catgirls and abuse and all, in a twisted strange way, this is actual love between a student (?) and a kid, but it's still pretty extreme! DEFINITELY not for the young ones.

There was 69-ing, riding, pounding, ice-cream, car, cross-dressing, the works.

You do know that Shota was ment for a male audience, right? Well an older male audience.

None of these sounds appealing to me. *shrug* Oh well.

The Boku no Pico one doesn't look appealing at all. The little boy looks waaay to much like a girl. If it's gonna involve two males, I'd like them to at least be recognizable as that gender.

The shota theme had appeared in many works in the yaoi genre. Maybe the shota that you're thinking of are older women and little kids, since that usually appeals to the male audience more than older men + little kids. There're also many elements in this anime that are also strongly used in yaoi (angst, romance, the whole uhhhhh positions.)

In the middle, he hacked off all that hair, finally starting to look like a real boy. At the same time, it sort of hit right home how seriously wrong this anime is.

no, even the older male, and younger boy are mainly for an older male audience....i cant really explain it...but i think it has to do with power over another and all that.

And Dazzle, i thought you liked the guys that look and take it like girls, lol. (like Shuichi)

Even I have my limits. :P Or maybe I'm just too picky.

I actually have seen some shota targeted to guys. It was at this doujin site, and these were very, very different from the other shota manga I have seen. It was like a very hardcore hentai, and the little boys looked really, really girly.

umm....yaoi is hentai....why do Yaoi girls never admit that?

DazzleKitty

I knew you'd say that. I was trying to be picky with my choice of wording, but I guess it didn't go over too well. I know yaoi is hentai. I label it as a subgenre of hentai. I was just specifying it was hardcore. Very hardcore. Like a very, very, very hardcore hentai that's shota.

I just got done watching the raw of Boku no Pico. Errr...it was quite interesting. I LOLed more than I'd like to admit. I liked the looks of the little boy a lot better when he chopped his hair off. The last scene was my favorite.

It was almost every dang sex scene. The ice cream thing was hilarious, the ice cube was funny, and all the cum... It was like, a hose fuol of cum exploding, lol.

Just wanted to point out that the Ikoku and Kire Papa. OVAs should be out spring of 2007. http://www.primetime.gs/

I can't wait! .^^ I just know Ikoku is gonna be great! It's one of my favorite manga, and Yamane sensei is without a doubt my mangaka of choice. This is more reason to look forward to the end of school! Hehe. Hope everyone's as excited as I am about the OVAs.

Is it just me, or is there overuse in the name "Ranmaru" in Yaoi? I could swear i have heard it atleast in 3 others O.o...

*gasps* WOW that's great. I can't wait. There's alot of yaoi OVAs coming out. Why can't they be series though? I like my anime longer.

I'm glad they're OVAs. If they were TV series, you wouldn't get much, if any, smex. People pushed for the Okane ga Nai series to become an OVA instead (which was done) because the story would have to be drastically changed if it were aired on TV.

Some OVAs are about TV series length. The first Tenchi Muyou! series and Gundam 08th MS Team, for example. Yaoi OVAs don't tend to be very lengthy though.

^ Yeah i guess you're right. I don't think any yaoi OVAs have surpassed 2 episodes. It's saddening. It's too bad that the majority of the yaoi fans stick to manga exclusively.

Kizuna had three eps. .^_~
I've still not watched that third episode though..... I watched Kizuna way back in the day when that old company had the license for it and it was on VHS.

it's still a pity...OGN is most definitely a series length manga, and it saddens me that they're condensing it. i suppose ur 'drastic change' would mean serious lack of the sex, which is prominent in the manga, and that wouldn't be pleasing either....but i'm worried that the characterizations won't be as deep in the ova considering that they're only going to be 30min each....

all in all i suppose i'm eagerly/anxiously awaiting to see what they'll do to the story (which could be a little less masochistic to poor aya-chan but is still GREAT)

^ If the OVA is a success, there's always a chance for a series. Just make sure to buy a copy of the original DVD if you want it to be a successful in DVD sales. I'm buying a copy from CD JAPAN.

Well yes, but my point is that the sex has a lot to do with the plot. Lose the sex and you kind of lose a huge chunk of plot.

I do agree that Okane ga Nai is a series length manga though. So was Haru wo Daiteita....

yea i agree. sigh. i suppose i'd be happy with some sort of a balance if they did do a full length anime on it....they didn't have to have ayase under kanou for every bloody episode but for a few definitely, and a little eye candy here and there...ah well. anyway, they better make these good cuz i'll be pissed if they butcher em. we especially don't need ayase getting raped by anyone else--that'll send me off the deep end. he gets enough from kanou for crying out loud.
let's hope for the best
