I like Prison Break better even though I've only seen it a few times. I've seen 24 and Lost too, but they didn't get my interest.

I've seen most of the first season, didn't watch much of the 2nd. Did it pale in comparison?

I'm a fan of Lost, never watched Prison Break, and don't care for 24, even with Kiefer.

Watched the first two seasons of 24, and I thought it was OK. Never cared for Lost or Prison Break.

Well Lost is the best show on TV, and among the basic cable shows (ie not on HBO and etc -- Entourage is awesome). The best basically rank as such (in no specific order)

Lost
Grey's Anatomy
24
Desperate Housewives
Scrubs
and nip/tuck is extremely entertaining and creative.

I think Lost is great. 24 I find dull and irritating. Prison Break is ok, but it would be better without all the shabby conspiracy stuff and non-prison break related stuff.

No but I've heard enough good things.

It seems like critics and fans alike love the show.

And a few of my friends who have similar interests in tv put it above the shows in the topic title.

I just wish all tv shows were as cheap as sitcoms (20-35 dollars) and not the 40-55 these action/dramas cost -_-;

I thought Lost looked like an interesting concept, and I've heard about it from people who are fans. Maybe if the whole series is completed, it'll be worth renting. As with anime, I won't touch it until it's fully released.

I've never seen Prison Break, but I thought it sounded like a pretty silly series concept.

I am unfortunately exposed to 24 on a regular basis (at wall-penetrating decibels), and I can say that the writing is as bad as the rest of the police 'gimmick' dramas on television. Kiefer's acting is outright amusing (more from the writing than his acting skills, I think), and at this point I almost think he's parodying himself.

To be honest, I really can't tell these shows apart any more. Law & Order, CSI, 24, that other one I can't think of the name of... to me, they're the live-action American TV version of the Gundaball. Except the shows in the Gundaball are generally well written. American police 'gimmick' dramas just... suck.

I understand that formula fiction is just that: formulaic. But still - would an ounce of subtlety kill these folks? Would they really miss their deadlines if they tweaked that formula slightly, say, every third episode? Could they maybe mix it up a bit?

The most laughable of these shows I've found is Cold Case. The writers on that show should have their keyboards taken away. They shouldn't be allowed to write screenplays again until they can write a thesis describing the difference between a fictional narrative and a music video. I've caught parts of that show and been genuinely embarassed for the people who made it.

EDIT: -_-; nvm I didn't read back. I thought 24 prisoners broke out of jail and went lost. v.v here I was thinking cowboy bebop time \m/

These great tv shows are so... inferior to anime (don't ask me how, cause I don't have an answer .);) I actually wacthed all of 24(first and I think third series) when my dad rented it and I watched some of lost. God give me a break, TV dramas are so bad. Who writes this stuff, I write better fanfiction (partly an exageration).

They aren't great, but I've been spending my time with higher quality stuff like finding nemo and V for Vendetta (Yes I did just type that). Why can't any of these series be like "Sophie Scholl - Die Letzten Tag". Sophie Scholl - Die Letzten Tag was some Independent film. No hard core action. Just debate, amazing debate at that. That movie was so short and simple, yet amazing, WTH is wrong with out TV's v.v

I do credit lost with the whole crack transport bit, that was good, I hate the rest.

in comparison to lost and prison break, I agree with you. It has action, but don't get me wrong, it still gets annoying and dull.

IMO all 3 fail in comparison to Carnivale.

Oh yes I agree, also it seems only the odd numbered series are actually good.. 2 & 4 were very subpar :(

6 should be interesting.....

I love Lost, used to love 24 but the last season was getting predictable because of the last, however many there are, seasons. Never seen Prison Break but heard it's pretty good. Maybe I should start, Wentworth Miller's not too bad on the eyes.

That's understandable, but it is a very entertaining and addictive show.

IMO all 3 fail in comparison to Carnivale.

I'll give you my opinion soon, becaus eI'm going to start watching Carnivale.

Yeah but then you should try renting the shows, then once you've watched it, you can watch the show in primetime when the new seasons start and if you really like the show, you can always buy it afterwards.

The only one I find myself watching is Prison Break, thanks to my mother. But I'm sure actually will enjoy the next season.
No comment for the others, though some of my school friends are hooked on 24.

Prison Break season 2 premiere is tomorrow night.

William Fichtner should be a great addition to the series. From the promo he looks just as smart as Scofield.

And as far as Veronica Mars, I just finished season 1 and plan on buying season 2 on Tuesday. I think its one of the best shows on tv not being watched.

With 24, you gotta watch from the first Ep of a particular season, and then continue watching them all. It's good because the good guy doesn't always get his way, usually stuff that they try to accomplish goes wrong, people die, or something unexpected happens. But yeah, watch from the first hour of the season and watch the whole season you will be addicted.

Prison Break is the same way. You gotta watch the whole thing or at least have an idea of what is going on in order to know what they are trying to do and how they are doing it.

I don't watch lost. I will get around to it some day, but Heros is more my show now
