Got this from Toonzone Anime Forum, Seems to be that this yaoi comic is being made into an anime...Dont know if its going to be an ova or series. If anyone can read this, please translate

*falls off from chair* Now that was unexpected.

If memory serves me right, this spans a total of 4-5 volumes? One OVA to deal with maybe one volume (because you know it has to be in OVA format if 50% of it is yaoi action) so maybe four OVAs together? (Two if the animators took a page from Angel's Feather's book and like, toss everything out the window.)

I also do hope they'd make Ayase's eyes a bit less creepier. It's mainly why I'm not really sold on this manga. :P

Since they're picking up a famous title, does that mean more BexBoy titles would soon follow? (I'm still crossing my fingers for a Hybrid Child anime. :D)

Edit: Jesus, two more Yaoi series are on its way. :o One of them happens to be none other than one of Ayano Yamane's titles! :o

I heard about this on another forum. I haven't read that manga, so I know nothing of it. It looks neat, though. It's always nice to get more animated BL.

Someone just needs to bring the Manga to the US.

Someone good.

Not CMX.

CMX was the company that butchered Tengo Tenge, right? Or did I get it wrong?

I'm not sure why so many people are obsessed with Okane ga Nai, I found the uke... too much like a uke. I might like it more in an animated version, though.

If it is coming out, I'm guessing it would be an OVA series, like most all other yaoi-related anime, unless they're shoenen-ai, such as Graviatiaon or Loveless, and this series 100% yaoi, so I don't know what TV station would be willing to air it. :P

Just got package from my friend in Japan and in one of the magazines, it said that the Okane ga Nai OVA will be out in January of next year. Fyi, I believe it's being turned into an OVA now and not a TV series. That's rather a good thing since I had no idea how they would be able to air the series on TV while still preservng the storyline. Wonder how long the OVA series will be.

Is this going straight to dvd or will it be shown on tv? Maybe I'm being blind but I tried looking on the site to see what station its going to be on but I'm not finding anything.

It will not be broadcast on TV. It's too sexually explicit to be shown on TV. It will go straight to DVD next year. So you will have to wait a bit more.

aaaah that makes sense.

man this waiting sucks. i love ayase. i hope it is more than two OAVs cuz it's a seriously long story line. but i'm a bit worried cuz i saw this on cdjapan.com and it's selling for a little over 160 bucks--and just the first vol. aarinfantasy said they'd gladly sub it, but would they really buy something so expensive? honestly, there's really no way i'd be able to get a hold of it unless it was downloadable.

his eyes are gorgeous btw. "creepy" does not exist as an adjective for him in any way.:$%&#!:

It's over 160 dollars? Are you serious? Why on earth is an ova that expensive. I love to see it but there's no way I'm forking over that much money.

jaxy-chan
January 29th, 2007, 10:49 AM
it's $165.67 to be precise :crybaby: here see for yourself:

http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=BIBA-7041

i'm a bit more calm about this price after reading the description. they give you TONS of stuff aside from the dvd, so i suppose that's what explains the price being through the roof. i can't decide if it's a good deal, nor will i test that theory since i'm broke, but it's not so much of a shock now. it still bites that only ep 1 comes on the dvd.

That's only for the limited edition with alot of stuff included. My friend is buying the limited version just for the gifts in it. The original version is cheaper so if you want to support the anime or if you want to collect the anime, then buy the original one.

I saw a blurb about it in the feburary newtype, they actually had a picture of the main uke guy.

I sort of wonder how explicit It’s going to be since I heard the manga was n explicit,
(plus the characters seem a bit too seme and uke for me o_o; )

I agree. The uke looks exactly like a girl, and the seme isn't very cute. When you see pictures of them together, it looks like a father and his daughter. -_-;

ayase is basically a girl with a penis and kanou is, well, a bit of a masochist. what can one do? that's just the way they were made.

Ayase does look like a boy before he grew his hair in the flashbacks of the manga, but he doesn't quite act like one nor speak like one either.

And I think you meant Kanou is a sadist (although he's masochist in some degree), but I rather say he's romantically retarded than an actual sadist. He's pretty needy and insecure at times and the only way he thinks of winning Ayase over is to keep him in debt until Ayase falls for him. Dude even once tried to win Ayase won using 'How to Raise a Hamster' book.

Yeah, great romantic strategy...

careful, don't be too revealing now. actually, i was just trying to be neutral against the negative opinions on "the uke". i really do like this series a lot, and i love ayase in particular as a character, which is y i'll defend him. ayase IS an emotional dormat, but that makes him lovable just the same to me (dunno y??). i loved Ai no Kusabi and there's nothing feminine about Ricky, whom i also like. as long as there is a good plot, character develop., and a helluva lot of sexy bishounen, i'm all in. some people like their uke UKE, some like them more real, and some like both. it doesn't really matter--to each his own.

mmm, i'll have to completely agree with you on that romantic-retardation kanou's got. i honestly didn't know what to call him. we know he enjoys making ayase seriously flustered...in an exclusively sexual sort of way -_-; which proves he really is totally insecure, since he seems to think that's the only advantage he has, aside from the debt. but then again, it's not like he doesn't have a basis; ayase's a tough one to crack, and there's a good reason for him being the way he is too ^_^. even so it's obvious kanou's head over heals about ayase, and even though he makes him suffer (while annoying at times), it makes him likeable too . and about that hamster book, even though it's a far cry from lessons in socializing (with humans) you gotta admit it really was funny  how else is kanou supposed to understand??? :teehee:

btw, does anyone know if aarinfantasy put up the raw (or if they even are)?

I saw the first episode! It's pretty decent. The animation was fine, the story focused on the relationship and it would kind of disappoint those who were expecting tons of sex. Overall, it's good and i'm looking forward to the second episode.

Well, maybe I'm the only one so far here (I've heard plently of people disappointed on another forum), but I thought the OVA was pretty bad, animation wise, and sex wise, and... well I can't comment as much on anything else because it wasn't subtitled, but the animation was really bad for something being done in 2007, usually OVAs have a good quality - for its popularity I was expecting a lot more.

Watched it a while ago.
Though I wouldn't say I loved it, I thought it was pretty good. Fukuyama's performance as Ayase was really nice. Such an innocent, gentle voice. <3 Good thing I'm used to hearing seiyuu use all sorts of tones so not too much surprises me anymore or else my image of Lelouch (Code Geass) might have changed drastically! LoL.

Animation for the OVA wasn't the best. I think they could have done a better job, having an OVA budget and all. S'been a long while since I last read the manga so I don't have much else to comment on.

The OVA is supposed to be only 4 episodes. That's awfully short for a farily long running manga. It makes me wonder how much they can pack in....... No dates yet for the second episode. Since the whole OVA is only going to be 4 episodes, I would guess there'd be a release one every two months or so.

I watched the first ova yesterday and I was a little surprised at the quality of the animation and yeah, I admit that I was a little disappointed but I'm still interested in seeing the rest of the ovas.

I think the reason why the animation budget was not very huge was because they wanted to test if the sales for the first OVA are decent. If it's good, they will increase the budget for the next OVA.

Just to let you know, the second volume of the OVA comes out *THIS MONTH* on the 22nd, the same day the 3rd volume of the Fuyu no Semi OVA is released. I hope the animation will be a bit better....

Watched the second episode a few days ago and wow.... It was..... cute. X.D Just, Kanou, yeah.... He can be cute. If you've read the manga, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. The whole "how to take care of small pets" book, his doing "things" in the wrong sequence, etc, etc.

I'm not really digging the proportions of characters in the series.... Kanou is like 4-5 heads taller than Ayase, and pretty much everyone except Ayase's shoulders are too broad. It's been a while since I've read the manga so I can't really remember if that was the art style, but I don't remember it bothering me then, so *shrug*.

There was a little bit of H and I thought the scene was handled nicely. No overblown sound effects a la SP, hehe. Still getting used to hearing Fukuyama use such a soft voice as Ayase. I've been hearing him use deeper tones lately (eg. Lelouch) so yeah.

Anyway, hope the next ep will come out soon.

According to ANN, there is supposed to be 4 episodes to this OVA but only two are out so far. The two have been released about 4 months apart, so I'd expect it'll be awhile before its completely finished.

I thought the first episode was kind of plain or maybe not as interesting as what I've seen in the past. Though it has me wondering what'll happen to that one guy. :P
