When I first started watching anime,It used to happen to me alot, and by it I mean a rapture. It doesn't happen to me so often anymore but, is this similar to a runners high?

What do you mean by rapture?

I can honestly say that I've never released euphoric quantities of endorphins while watching any animated feature. Ever. Not once in 30 years.

Rapture? What, are you speaking in tongues? Are you sure it's not just made up psuedo-"Japanese"?

Well if you go into the hentai section, people sometimes mention a different kind of "rapture" caused by hentai...which is anime...

I'm pretty sure we all know what rapture means. The context in which said poster used it, however, is grammatically incorrect. There are better words to describe this euphoria/ecstasy one might experience while watching anime.

I felt that way when I first saw Tenshi no Tamago (Angel's Egg). When a piece of art captures my imagination so completely that it transports me to another plane, that makes it special.
Few other movies or series have done this to me, most notable was whenever I watch or read Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou. It's just that good.

No, lots of people answered, but only one person agreed. Big difference.

it happens to me all the time. It's my anime high!! I got that yetserday when I was watching Air Gear(episode 17) and when I watched again this morning. Another time was when I first saw Shakugan no Shana and this was just the opening. Anything with bishounen and really hot anime guys will definetly put me in a rapture :naughty:

Back when I was in the 7th Grade,I was exposed to ANime the first time. Gundam Series,Outlaw Star,Tenchi Muyo Series,Macross,Ghost in a Shell,Ect., But now? The feeling is now lost again. I dont feel exctied when I see animated violence,I dont feel good whenever I hear a Theme song,..Back when your young or when your exposed to something new,You embrace it and your into it. But when you grow older...the it just loses that loving feeling. =/

I suppose I felt sad when I watched ayashi no ceres, the series really captured my emotion. Not transcended... but perhaps running high when the sister kind of dies (that wasn't a spoiler- if you think it is, you will be severly misled :D).
