Sarutobi family [contains manga spoilers!]

To get straight to the point: I was thinking last night about the Sarutobi family. Asuma is the Third Hokage's son. Konohamaru is the Third Hokage's grandson. Is there anyone here who thinks it's possible that Konohamaru is Asuma's son, despite the fact they're only eighteen years apart? Or have most people just assumed Konohamaru is Asuma's nephew??

Has Asuma revieled having a wife yet? I'm not fully caught up on the manga but i would guess konohamaru would have to be his nephew, cause Asuma seems really " into " Kurenai(sp) But if not it would seem logical

Also, in the recent chapte rin which Asuma was talking to his fahter's graved, he mentioned something about being sorry he left the village and was gone for all those years. So if there was a time away, it could be argued that he didnt marry and have kids. while he was gone. Konohamaru being as familiar with his grandfather as he was, leads me to believe that he wasnt away from the village with his family at any time. I assume he has been there since birth. Also, the Asuma/Kurenai romance is probably second in the 'most likey romances' next to Shika/Temari.

Yeah, I don't even think Asuma's married yet. When Kakashi spotted him and Kurenai walking together he asked if they were on a date, and Asuma doesn't seem like the type to cheat if he had a wife. So I take it that Asuma's not married, much less having any offspring. I've pretty much assumed Asuma's one of atleast two children and Konohomaru is his nephew. Or it could be that Asuma and Konohomaru are father and son and the wife/mother is deceased. But while that senario is not entirely impossible, it's not very likely either.

he doesnt, but seeing as how we never see him with the child, then one would have to assume there is a mother involved at some point who is taking care of him. could they be divorced? sure, but i dont see Asuma as the dead-beat dad type who never hangs with his kid.

Well i woudlnt consider him a dead beat dad, but for anime watchers if you seen the flashback during the oro sarutobi fight you may notcie that there is never a scene in which asuma and konohamaru are together. Im pretty sure if they were father and son they would have apeared together. also for manga readers, not a dead beat dad? How do you know, he left the village behind for all those years, it is possible he left his son too, although i wouldnt think so. To never see Asuma with konohamaru pretty much makes me think theyre not father son. Also if Kurenai was the mother since theres a asuma/kurenai connection, dont you think you would see her with her son at least once?? Im guessing asuma doesnt have any kids yet.

Also as you see the third was a perv jsut like jiriya, i bet he got it on all the time, he was hokage he probably had t&a coming at him left and right, he probably has kids he doesnt even know about.

well, thats just the point. its very possible, and we dont know for sure, but like you said, i wouldnt think so. from what we have seen of asuma's personality so far, one would get the impression that he wasnt.

Yeah, same here, if there is anything betwen them. There's tiny hints here and there but it's nothing definite.......yet. It's safe to assume that there is something between them but we'll have to wait and see for sure. Perhaps when Asuma gets killed by Akatsuki, Kurenai's reaction is what gives definte proof of a relationship.
