Anyone else like when artists cover American or other artist's songs?
I love it...
so what are your faves?

I LOVE cover songs... Are we talking anime or not?... I don't know any anime covers... Well maybe "Strangers In Paradise" somewhat became "The Garden Of Everything" from RahXephon...

But non-anime-wise, my most favourite cover is Fiona Apple's (also Rufus Wainright's) cover of The Beatles' "Across The Universe"... Jai Guru De Va, Ohm....nothing's gonna change my world... I actually don't like The Beatles' version of the song...

No I wasn't talking about anime...
I've never heard that cover, but it sounds like I'd like it...better get it. :D

My favorite covers are performed by:
Yuji Oda
the pillows
Miyavi
all the artists on the pillows tribute CD.

Yuji Oda does some great Wam!! covers such as Last Christmas and Wake Me Up Before You Go Go. I like his versions a lot better then Wam!!'s versions actually. -_-;

the pillows did a couple covers I liked....they did a good version of Nirvana's BREED, and another great version of the Beatles' Come Together(I've seen a lot of Japanese Covers of this song.)

Miyavi also did a good cover of BREED, or so I think..it was some Nirvana song, he did it alone, just him adn his acoustic...and it sounded better than Nirvana. -_-;

Synchronized Rockers is a tribute CD to the pillows. Practically all the covers on that CD are great. They include:
Mr. Children covering Strange Chameleon
the Noodles covering Vain Dog(In Rain Drop)
and many more.

Cover songs (when a foreign artist covers a popular American song) are interesting. I believe Faye Wong does a cover of a Cranberries song (in Chinese/Mandarin) which I actually did like, though I don't much like the actual Cranberries version. I think Aya Hisakawa did a cover of a Madonna song or something during a live Tenchi concert. That was interesting too. Even when the singer is not fluent in english (which is usually easy to tell when they sing it in english), the cover is ok. I couldn't name any faves though, I listen to a ton of Jmusic but don't take particular note of any songs as I listen to them.

All im going to say is that how the hell could some one do a Wham cover, I mean they were good, but George Micheal is out there man. But for a cover no I cant say I see any, but Dani California was used in recent japanese movie so im happy. But there was a song from a mid 90s anime, cant remeber it at all. I remeber the beat and to my surprise it was Under The Bridge by the RHCP sung in japanese.

Oh man, Yuji Oda's Wam cover was supreme. Better then Wam themselves.
