And i'm confused. Really confuzzled.
I plan to color my drawings, but I don't have a base to start with. Help please?

Painter IX is a sort of pain in the ***. Some safe tools to use are the gouache burshes and oil brushes. I heard good things about the scratchboard tool for inking (though I prefer photoshop) and for blenders you can use the Just add Water tool. I don't recommend using any of the watercolor tools because they are hard to use and stupid sometimes.
Here is a tutorial from Yume. She used Painter 7 but it's essentially the same thing considering what tools she uses. However what Painter 7 tutorials do and say may not work with Painter 9 (mainly any tut that has to do with digi watercolors). I tested this though and it is essentially the same.

Just experiment with brushes and stuff.
I assume you already know how to use layers. If you don't I made the tutorial that explains layers. It's a Photoshop tutorial but layers work the same except to duplicate a background layer, you have to use the rectangle tool to copy and paste the drawing in a new layer instead of using right click.

Oh, thanks alot. Yes, I indeed know how to use layers. I just needed to know what tools to use.
You're the best ^_^
Edit: Hmm... I can't seem to find the water tool.
