I can't believe how good The Descent is doing. Its shaping up to be one of the best reviewed horror flicks since The Ring. It currently stands at 90%, and not just over a first batch of about10 reviews, out of 40!

Talladega Nights is also doing pretty good. 73% for a comedy is pretty high. Currently has 30 reviews. I wouldn't be surprised if that drops to about 60-65%, which is still fairly high for a comedy.

I'm most likely going to see Talladega Nights tomorrow as our theater isn't getting The Descent on opening weekend.

Talladega Nights looks like the best comedy movie since Anchor Man

Hah. Usually "a bunch of people getting slaughtered in a cave" movies don't get very good ratings

I'm not interested in NASCAR(no less a spoof on it) in the least and as stupid as Talladega Nights looks, I can't help but be curious. The reviews are not looking too bad either.

and it can't hurt that it's got Will Farell, the king of dumb comedies.

I'm gonna watch them both, although I have to say I want to see Talladega Nights more because it looks so damn funny....of course.

The Descent looks creepy, bloody & dark so I wanna see it.

i thought Talladega Nights wasn't that funny, just dumb (except the part when strikes the knife in his leg, THAT was funny!)

Descent: I dunno. Reminds me of Saw. Hated that movie, too.

The Descent is being directed by Neil Marshall, who did a little movie called Dog Soldiers, which is a cult hit, and one of my favorites... There is nothing like a man going crazy throwing pots at a werewolf, AWESOME!

Dog Soldiers is a SciFi Picutres Origional.... I never heard anything about it being a "cult hit".

Appparently it was a direct to video, not a Sci-fi original.

I saw Talladega Nights today; it's definately one of the better movies Will Ferrell has done. I especially loved the gay Frenchman and the blatant product placement throughout the movie.

The Descent just looks like alot of the freaky movies they have been making lately. Anyways I'm not a real big fan of horror movies.

Is it true that the US release changed the ending of Descent to make it more happy ending? Thats what I heard but it could be wrong. The movie was released in the UK last year.

Yeah, I found out from a cinephile friend that this version was altered due to focus group screenings earlier this year.

I think they'll do what they did for 28 Days....on the dvd they'll probaly include both endings.

and it can't hurt that it's got Will Farell, the king of dumb comedies.Yup he's definitley earning that title.
Anyway I thought it was funny, alot of the humor was hit or miss but the ones that were had me in tears. Sacha's gay french men was priceless(his new movie coming up looks pretty hilarious as well).
Enjoyed it, like most Will Ferrell movies its like watching one big giant SNL skit

Yep, they removed the last scene basically. Making it somewhat, though not totally, a happier ending. Just got back from seeing it. I thought The Descent was one of the better scary movies that have come out in a long while. here is a link to the original ending if you want to see it

And I liked Taladega nights(saw its last night). Doesnt top anchorman(nothing has yet for me) but still very good, Im still undecided if I liked this or Nacho Libre better for my top comedy this year so far. But The descent is one of my top horror movies though, for sure.

Talladega Nights was funny. But not nearly as good as Anchor Man.

Best comedy movie ever.
