Is there ANYONE out there still reading this series?

I kinda gave up on that series after Hand in Hand. Not only was the humor starting to down the crapper, but the artwork was seriously starting to stink. Urd lost the kick *** wavy hair she had and the faces of Belldandy and Skuld were just...plain weird.

I maintain that the best moments of the series came between The Queen of Vengence and Miss Keiichii. The Fourth Goddess was all right though. The older books were pretty funny (especially the story in the first book with the anime otaku!) even if the art was less then stellar.

I am, and I love it. One of my favorite series.

I've been reading it scanalated (read up to chapter 214), and while I DO still enjoy it, I must admit that it's taken a turn. A turn for the _what_ I don't know. It's like there's no goal, though I suppose there never was. It's just being written to be written. Relationships aren't going anywhere. I don't like Keiichi's haircut (which he's been sporting for some time). There's more focus on machines than anything else of late. Everyone is getting all hot and flushed over everything. To be perfectly honest, Belldandy's eyes don't seem to have any emotion in them anymore either. I'll keep reading it, but I wish there was a purpose, something to work towards.

I only recently started reading it, so I'm still on the earlier part of the manga. I doubt I'll keep reading it forever, though, based on what's been said in this thread. Just until (in my opinion) the quality dips.

Well, the little videogame ninjas address this directly:

Indeed. The "magic", for me, is gone after the mid volume 20s; Fujishima just doesn't seem to know what to do with the story. Heck, for a while he even upped the fanservice and innuendo(s).

About the eyes, my friend took a look and remarked that perhaps they were all on crack. :P

I've just started reading it with the new unflipped releases. While I have volumes 21-23, I won't be reading them for quite a while since I don't like skipping volumes.

i would maintain that they all are..

i'm still reading it, though i'd like him to end it somehow. and i'd like to see some true development between them as well

Let's see... after The Fourth Goddess, you have:

- Wellsper introduced
- Sigel introduced
- Hild introduced
- Keiichi's parents introduced
- The 'Angel Eater' arc
- Urd's Goddess Exam
- Belldandy & Hild's broom race
- The Thing I Want To Make arc

I dunno, it seems like anyone who likes AMG would like these arcs. It's a sitcom. Nothing changes, because that's the situation. Change the situation, and the series jumps the shark.

I didn't have a problem with it in Ranma 1/2, and I don't really see the problem with AMG. If it's not to your tastes, there's nothing wrong with that, and there are plenty of other manga out there. Other folks like it.
