Okay, I just finished watching F91 and all I can say is 'what the hell'!!??

There's almost no storyline, just random skirmishes and one decent fight towards the end; it would have been so much better as a series. Theres no explanation for why Annamarie defects or why Seabook and Cecily end up becoming the leaders of the Crossbone Vangaurd. This has got to be one of the worst executed gundam features I've ever seen (excluding G-Saviour :x ).

The problem is, it was supposed to be a series and for some unfathomable reason they only did a movie instead. I wish it had been a series, it had so much potential as a series. I like the movie, but it really is a disappointment when you think about what it could have been

I enjoyed the movie, its just far too rushed with gaps in the storyline.

Sunrise was too busy pouring money into Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 STARDUST MEMORY and Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 Last Blitz of Zeon to finance a full TV series, too.

I enjoyed the movie, its just far too rushed with gaps in the storyline.

Ironically, storyline gaps are what I think hindered 0083, too; however, all three (STARDUST, Last Blitz, and F-91) all have superb animation. 1991 just wasn't a good year for Sunrise's writers.

Despite its faults, I actually loved F-91. I'm eagerly awaiting the moment I can actually find the manga (Crossbone titles, too) so I can get the full story. The animation is probably one of Sunrise's best theatrical works, right up there with Char's Counterattack, to compare with another Gundam. It's smooth looking, fluid movement, and vibrant coloring make it jump out of the screen like so few titles do. The mecha designs are really nice; it's a shame most of those model kits haven't been re-released and are out of stock/print.

As much as I do Enjoy 0083 (even with all its flaws), they should have just made the F91 series

As much as I really don't like Monday Morning Quarterbacking, I think keeping STARDUST strictly as an OAV and combining the F-91 and Last Blitz budgets for an F-91 TV series might not have been a bad idea. However, I don't have any real hard facts as to which was or would have been better financially to Sunrise at the time, so it's all completely speculation.

It wasnt a great movie but it wasnt a bad one either. I will admit that I found myself asleep at times but other areas woke me back up a tad. Might not have been that great of a movie but I did get a beautiful anime cel of one of the crossbone suits out of it.

pretty pretty (http://pjjcels.rubberslug.com/gallery/master_query.asp?SeriesID=24434)

MG F91 kit. (http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN945070) Unfortunately its already out of stock after less than a month, but with it being such a recent release you'd hope there'll be more soon.

I really like the designs of the late UC stuff, it is kind of upsetting that with very little manga even scanslated all I have to go on is the F91 movie, Victory (which is really fairly different from F91 & Co.) and some plot summaries and games. I would really love to find novels/manga to know in detail what happened from Hathaway's flash right up to Crossbone:Skull Heart.

On F91, all I can do is echo what others said here; Its a very good looking movie, but has too many plotholes and really feels like its meant to be the start of something, not a self contained story.

I really want that, and its somewhat cheap for a MG. I love the base.

Yes, I plan on getting that kit once I work through my stockpile of kits that I need to build.

And actually, now that I check HLJ, they have more of the old F-90 and F-91 kits in stock than I previously thought.

I'm interested in F-91, but I'm hesitant to buy and watch it since I'm sure it will be disappointing. That model kit looks awesome though.

^ I think you'd be surprised how enjoyable it really is. You should give it a chance.

I'll probably pick it up the next time there is a Bandai sale or its part of the weekly special. I'm certainly interested, just a bit hesitant.

I'd buy it for thirty bucks. That said, you can find it in most places just over 15 or 20.

We're not supposed to mention other vendors when AnimeNation stocks the particular item in question (and they do stock F91). That said, I not only hate eBay, but it requires Paypal anyway, which I don't have.

I picked up the original F91 model just recently on eBay. $13.50 brand new in the box. I think it's an HG model, even though it doesn't say so on the box.

I just started putting it together last night. Looks like it will require some intricate painting on the back mounted thrusters with the yellow and black scheme of the engines.

Gundam F91 is a very good UC Gundam movie. It just feels like a classic OYW Gundam. The story isn’t the best but that’s only because it didn’t get the chance to develop more.

I think it’s a good beginners Gundam show because it’s filled with the usual Gundam story types.

Yes it is basically very much like the first Gundam show. I do like how we are able to see the post OYW era. I also liked the idea of an inner colony civil war. I epically liked the Ronah family and their aristocratic ideals. Zabine could have been a new Char. If F91 were a show and the Ronah family were given more development. I think they would have turned out to be my favorite villains. All in all, I think F91 is the most space opera of all the Gundam animation and that’s why I like it.

Wow, I just finished watching this movie, and it really does suck. I have no idea why things appeared the way they are for the most parts. It's like a cut and past movie. I wonder why Sunrise even bothered to focus on the other characters. They should at least made 4 movies or something. That's too bad. So much potential. It has great graphic and animation too.

It looks like cut and paste because ... it's cut and paste. It was to be a full 50 episode TV series but Sunrise decided to cut it because they wanted to spend money on STARDUST MEMORY and Last Blitz of Zeon instead.

Which personally boggles me, but whatever.

At least they all look great.

I have a feeling that if they made this movie into a full 50 episodes, it would have become one of my favorite Gundam.
