I've stumbled into this thread in the mood to rant, so I'm gonna.

Here is what happens:

Musician's make their wonderful music. From there it is recorded on CD's. It costs money to make these CD's. When yuo buy a CD, some of your money goes to the artists. This in turn is used to make more CD's. Therefore, buying of CD's=more of tehm. Pirating CD's is not only illegal, but it doesn't give the money to the artists who in turn make less CD's which in turn makes everyone sad.

The money usually goes back to the recording studio which a small royalty is paid. Most of the money goes into, advertisement, CD covers, merchandise, commercials, music videos, etc...
The artist usually gets money by live shows, gatherings, etc...

But, buy the CDs and you'll be happier.

Umm... Yeah I do. I probubly was also listening to L'Arc~en~Ciel before you were even thinking about it. Blurry Eyes, Vivid Colors, Flower, Niji, Dive to Blue, and Honey pwn all over Killing Me, New World, Lost Heaven and all this other punk crap they are turning out. Ready, Steady, Go!! was ok I guess. It's almost a rule that bands get worse as time progresses and they feel they need to innovate. Except for L'Arc~en~Ciel innovation means looking like some trash that was scraped out of Hot Topic on their covers (Awake).

I bet you were seeing as I onyl just started listening to L'arc~en~Ciel. I'm mainly talking about the pillows. They sound ntohing like quote unquote "old men on helium". How would someone even come up with a metaphonr like that. It's just stupid, and false no less..
Now, everyone has their own opinion, their own tastes. But you cannot deny the fact of what the pillows did for JROCK itself. They're easily one of the most recognizable JROCK bands here in the states. They're probably one of the oldest bands still together to this day. They have a style unique and different, an off-the-wall rock style that once you here it, you're compelled to listen to it even more.

I mean seriously...your denying credit to some of the most legendary JROCK groups ever.

While I have mixed feelings about downloading (I do it, but I also buy the CDs whenever I can find them), I think maybe asking on a merchandise site where to download instead of purchase might not be smiled upon. ;D

Says who? Legends are overated, I don't care if they've been around 100 years, or every Wapanese person in America likes them, if they don't sound good they don't sound good. The guitarist is ok sounding, but I can't forget that moaning sound that came in the middle of FLCL that was supposed to pass for music. I mean it was crazy and wild so it fit with FLCL but I can't imagine listening to that willingly.

Make sure you check out the other bands i have listed. If you like Dir en grey, then check out Gazette. But their guitarist isn't as skilled as Dir en Grey's. But their music is great.
Also, check out Penicillin, known for their legendary bassist. And MUCC is good too. ^_^

Are you retarded? They are not the only bands I have listened to, I was just saying that I have listened to them in order to justify my not liking them. I wouldn't hate them without listening to them at some rate so I told her I listened to them. I suggest you learn some reading comprehension.
I've listened to maybe 300 different rock bands from one time or another, maybe about 25 that are J-rock bands and 5 that are Romanian. Rock is not my favorite genre of music, it has become too grungy as of the last 20 years. I like rap and r&b much more than I like rock, and I would prefer J-Urban or just straight j-pop to J-rock about 90% of the time. I am against bands like Beat Crusaders and the Pillows so much because they make their music and preformances too weird, and not in a way that makes sense or is artistic eaither. Am I supposed to be impressed by a dancing bear with a penis or some guys in paper masks? Maybe the Beatles in 1968 could get away with a dancing penis bear but this isn't 1968 and they are not the Beatles.

wow. 300 rock bands*slow clap* real rock specialist huh? kenshinbebop was trying to bring out the point that you only mentioned 2 of the bands listed. even when you said they all sucked "except FLOW and maybe orange range". you did not follow up to your point. you are only focusing on 2 of those bands. and you probably haven't listened to the others. so my question is. how can you say a band sucks and not give any reason as to why you think this?

Some will like the old school Laruku, some would like the new, same with Diru, and all those other bands. As far as I have noticed, all these Jrock threads have been turning into nothing more than flame after flame.

Anywho, as for recommendation. Since you decided on a Dir En Grey CD, I recommend getting Gauze. That CD has quite a few good songs on there, and theres a video for almost all the songs on the CD (Yurameki, Cage, Schwein No Isu, Raison D'Etre, I'll, Jealous, ZAN, Mazohyst of Decadence (I think)and I think I heard about one for Mask, probably not though). I suppose you could just Youtube some fo those songs to see if you like the songs on the CD before purchase, it might prove helpful and a good idea for you.

I'm terribly sorry you need a sense of humor to understand that ONE PV that uses a penis bear. It's not horrible at all, it's incredibly funny. But I guess you had your sense of humor removed at an early age. :/ And btw, if you actually listened to the song, and comprehended what they were saying, not just focusing on the hilarious video, you'd know why that song is so great.

And again...your only defending those TWO BANDS. And because rock isn't your favorite genre, I don't think you have the right to put it down....you obviously won't like it anyway...

I know that, I'm nto an idiot....I've already stated that in ym previous post. I'm just saying, he's putting down so mayn bands and only giving reasons for two repeatedly, and not onyl that, he's putting down legendary bands...so they are obviously NOT horrible.
