It's taken a while, but by God, IT IS COMING. I could not be more pleased about the inclusion of Venom. After all, Venom is love, for he is made of win and awesome. Plus, it isn't just any old Venom, and it certainly isn't the ugly Ultimate Venom (well, comparatively ugly), it's McFarlane Venom. YES.
Lord, I'm probably going to go gay for Topher Grace because of this. XD

Not really, he has that "foot ball player" loook to him. Either way, it's no biggie, I dig Topher.

Costume + CGI = big Venom, most likely. They did say they were using a late McFarlane Venom, which is fairly big, but not eight times the size of Spidey (more like a slightly bigger than average football linebacker).

Venom is the best Spidey villain. Can't wait for it to come out. Though didn't they say Sandman would also be a villain in 3? How are they gonna make the movie work with two bad guys.

Sandman and Harry are going to be the too main villians I believe. Venom going to show up at the 2/3 mark I think and that leads to the 4th movie!

At Comic-Con they released footage of Venom.
Of course, the public probably won't be able to see it but someone managed to get this bad quality video of it.

The footage ended with Topher's Eddie Brock feeling something black and gooey hit his hand--obviously the symbiote--and it cuts to the very first image of the computerized Venom, who looks exactly like he does in the comic book if rendered in 3D, looking straight into the camera with his jaws wide open and drooling. If you're a fan of Venom, you're not likely to be disappointed.

They'll probably go out and do Venom and Carnage for the 4th
Vaikyuko

Or better yet, have Venom be the main villain for the 4th with some cameos and origins of Carnage, then have Spidey do a teamup with Venom to take Carnage down. :P

Anyone know if they are gonna do the Spidey symbiote costume in this one? It's supposed to come before Venom.

It's in. Haven't you seen the promo image of Spiderman sitting on the church with the black outfit on?
I don't see them doing Carnage because of the R rating he would warrant.

I said "image". It's in, but so far it appears to have the stripes on it. He loses it in the same manner as in the comic book.

It looks identical to his current suit, just black. It's not like in the comics, although it may appear that way and we just haven't seen it happen yet.

All this talk about Carnage, what about Toxin? Maybe in Spiderman 10.

I'm surprised, someone who actually knows about the other symbiotes. Toxin is a nice character to work with, but I don't see him getting thrown in, ever. As for the original symbiote, I don't see it taking on the original look any time except for when Venom gets it. Presumably they wanted to mix up the style a little and keep Spider-Man recognizable for all the people who have only heard of him through the past two films. Plus it would make Venom's costume more recognizable. I really do hope they go with the tongue for Venom, though - McFarlane's Venom never really had the elongated tongue, but most later versions did and it's one of my favorite aspects about him, further makes him Spider-Man's polar opposite.
I'm more concerned about what Raimi said in that article - that Harry wouldn't be playing a GG2/Hobgoblin. What the hell is he going to do? Who is he going to be? Why throw him in at all if he's not going to be either? Or perhaps he's just screwing with us. In any case, it still makes me wonder that if neither of those are going to be in the film, who the green/purple nutjob flying around is. If it isn't GG2 or Hobbie, there's a superslim chance it could be Jack O'Lantern (originally, Roderick Kingsley), but that would be so absurdly out of left field it wouldn't make any sense at all.

Second that, having most of his comics that was one of my favorite features of his.
It would kick so much @ss if they added it.

Two problems with that. One, they seem to be staying decently true to the comics, and John Jameson never acquired the symbiote (in fact, it originally was taken by Spidey; the animated series had the symbiote attach itself to the space shuttle and emerge that way, taking various hosts until it sensed and took Spider-Man). Two, Jameson already came back from space. My bet is that they are going with a decent version of the animated series origins (stated above).
