Mind Game!!!

AAAAAHHH!!! I saw this on Thursday (there's an international film festival on in New Zealand at the moment) and I was completly blown away by it, absolutely amazing!!!

I didn't realise that Robin Nishi is actually the real person who wrote it... I have two questions:

1) I read it was based on a Manga/comic by Robin Nishi, what's it like? Good? Bad? Where can I find it?

2) More importantly, is this gonna get released on DVD outside of Japan?

Robin Nishi's Mind Game manga was published in July 2004. I'm not personally familiar wht it, but I've heard that it's very surreal and strange. AnimeNation can import the original manga by special order request.

Since the Japanese Mind Game DVD included optional English subtitles, logically the movie should be very easy to release in America, but I still haven't heard of any plans for an official American home video release.

since it's such an offbeat movie (and the JP DVD has Eng subs), it's probably one of those things where mostly everyone who wanted to buy it... has already bought it. In other words if I were ADV or whoever, I wouldn't bother releasing it in the US. The Japanese import serves the hardcore international fans just fine.

On a side note, I remember 4C put up a voting system on their website where visitors could vote for what extra feature they wanted on the Mind Game DVD. English subs was one of the options, and there was a small movement on English websites and forums to vote it to the top.

Thanks, I was just wondering if I should buy the japanese DVD or wait till it comes out on region 1/4, but I wasn't sure if it would at all since it doesn't seem like something that'd be very popular...
