Best Movie This Summer So Far

Well, since there's a worst movie thread, thought I'd make a best.


Pirates 2, for all its flaws, hands down.

Have to go with Superman Returns then PotC 2 coming in at a very close 2nd.
The S-man was alot better than I could of anticipated this summer.
Think I could put Tokyo Drift in a comfy 3rd or 4th spot.
Still waiting for Snakes on a Plane ^_^ and Miami Vice.

I enjoyed PotC 2 alot so thats where my vote goes to....Until I see Clerks II, than I gotta think lol.

my vote has to go to Superman, becuase I am a big Superman fanboy. Have been for life. Even more than anime.

I thought PotC2 was decent, but had a few problems with it. I liked the first better.

I saw Lady in the Water last night and loved every minute of it. Very happy with that one. Maybe because I was expecting it to be bad after all the negative critic reviews?

X3 I loved and hated at the same time. parts of it i really really liked, and other parts i really really hated. so thats a halfy for me.

hmm... what else has come out that i have seen?

I have yet to see POTC, which looks like it will get best in my opinion, but from what I've seen, it was a tie between X3 and Superman. They were both just okay. Actually come to think of it Superman was better cause I was in better company and didnt have to pay attention to all of it.

As for my pick, call me crazy but I'm going with MI3. Not necessarily the "best" movie, but I was the most entertained by it.

I'm expecting a lot from Mann's Miami Vice.

I'm a bit of a Superman nut. I have a Superman wallet, doll (lol), toys, door mat, mug, costume, DVDs, hat, and even the very crappy Superman 64 game. I've loved Superman since I was a kid. The Superman movies are some of my all time favorite movies.

Strangely, I was really kind of worried that this new movie would be crappy. When I first saw it, I indeed did think it was crappy. After a few more views (I downloaded it and then say it again in theaters) of the movie, I changed my mind. This movie is great. I can't say it any other way. Superman Returns is awesome. It's the best movie of the summer. Way better then X-men 3. The music in the beginning made me smile and no other movie has done that.

That I've seen in theaters? Over the Hedge so far is the best I've seen, but I think Clerks 2 will change that whenever it gets over here.

Of All the films I've just seen this summer on DVD? Samurai Rebellion by Masaki Kobayashi and starring Toshiro Mifune

Runners up: Sarutobi Sasuke or Under the Blossoming Cherry Trees, both by Masahiro Shinoda
