Don't Worry Mama the novel by Narise Nonohara and Yuki Shimizu
234 pages published by June
Another one that exceeded my expectations. =) I couldn't put it down.
"If you were stuck on a deserted island and you could pick one person to keep you company, who would you choose?
For Yuichi, it would be anyone but his uncooperative, self-absorbed, good-for-nothing boss Imakura! But as fate would have, the two are mistakenly left on a deserted island during an important resarch expedition. Yuichi would prefer to drown Imakura in the sea with his bare hands rather than listen to his constant complaining. But as the days fade into weeks, Yuichi finds himself craving Imakura's company more than civilization itself."
Wow. HOT sex scenes. Very, very graphic (I'm surprised it's not shrink wrapped). It's hard to find this level of extreme description even on adult fan fiction dot net. Hardcore Yaoi fans will be pleased. And I just loved the evolution of the characters! The random pictures scattered through the book are excellent and so is the plot!
"Hey, I'm not a chubby chaser."
I think it's wonderful to see a non-"perfect" character in Yaoi. Imakura starts off as an obese "monster" who becomes a beautiful person in Yuichi's eyes. And Imakura learns how to love. No Fabio in this book. =)
Sorry, I'm still gushing.
Rating: Drool worthy

I got this in the mail today but I haven't started it. I will soon. I think the whole idea of having one of the main characters fat is a very interesting thing. I have heard others complain that is a put off, but I think it's a good change. Something different to read about.

Thanks for bring this up, I've been putting off buying any translated English novels but I may just purchase this one as a test run to see what they're like... I've read a few other comments on it, and most are positive besides the comments about how the one guy is fat and wrecks the whole novel, which I find sort of shallow.

Do I see Yuki Shimizu's name on this O_O I know it's a novel and not manga, but is their much artwork in it? Like, approximately how many drawn pages are there? I'm not much for novels, but if Yuki Shimizu graced this with her art, I may just be inclined to check it out anyways

I counted 15 drawn pages. The artwork is very good. She really avoided drawing the 300 lb Imakura in the first part, but made up for it in the second part of the book.
I really liked reading about a large Uke, maybe because I'm not the skinniest person in the world. I've read about muscular, young, short, pink-haired, and shy ukes, but never before of a really obese one. Once I purchased it, I did have second thoughts like: if the main characters didn't look like Ray and Florian from Gorgeous Carat or Yuki and Shuichi from Gravitation, would I really like it? However, when I did start reading, I couldn't stop.
I think one reason is due to the Seme Yuichi, who at the begining of the book was disgusted with Imakura by his heartless behavior, calling him a fat pig over and over. The reader sympathizes with Yuichi. Once Yuichi commands dominance in the relationship, he starts to see Imakura in a different light. And Imakura becomes the uke you just want to hug and squeeze. I would love to read more.

I think that is why I will like it, since I will be able to relate to it. I'm quite the fat arse (and I don't mean that sarcastically).
I still haven't had time to start it. I've been so busy with college stuff and driving, and had a lot on my mind. I will post my thoughts here once I start it. I haven't had time for reading anything lately. I need to catch up.

I have this one. I bought it. And as shallow as it is...the obese uke turned me off as far as sex goes :uhh: . Of course, I've only skimmed it so far. Been so busy with other things, I haven't had time to sit and read it. I'm sure I'll like it (I haven't even finished the Only the Ring Finger Knows first novel. Had it for at LEAST three months now:eek: .) I really must sit down and read it. Maybe a rainy day. I'm sure I'll like it, the story line really does seem sweet

I started to read it this afternoon. It was so good, I actually read the whole thing in one sitting! I didn't expect to like it that much.
I must admit, at first I was a little squicked at the description of Yuichi's attraction to Imakura. The novel first portrayed Imakura as a very disgusting and dislikeable person in both personality and looks. But whenever Yuichi gets him to open up more, he becomes more bearable. You actually start to feel a little bad for him at some times.
Some of the descriptions of the sex scenes in the first part of the book made me embarrassed to read them. Probably because it sounded so kinky from Yuichi's perspective.
I do have one small complaint. Whenever Ikamura ran off for a year and a half and Yuichi finally sees him again, it felt as if he was a totally different person. I think the author's point was for the reader to see how he did change, but this was a total turnover. The only thing that remained the same is that he was still a bit of a crybaby. I figured that everyone, mainly Yuichi, would make a bigger deal over this. Or maybe it just seemed that way to me.
But overall, I really loved it. I hardly ever finish a book in a day like this unless it's really, really good.
