Apparently SEGA’s new game, Chromehounds, is causing users’ Xbox 360s to ‘lock up’ when playing the game, as well as causing the entire 360 to be unable to read discs. For the users in which it does work for, they’re having problems playing the game online.

If you go to the official Chromehounds forums website (http://boards.sega.com/chromehounds/viewforum.php?f=20), you can see many users are upset/frustrated and that this is not just a tiny problem. SEGA and FROM SOFTWARE are currently investigating the problem.

Just thought I’d notify the users here on AN, so they don’t end up with a dead 360. :naughty:

Havent heard anything about that yet, Chromehounds sold out the first day we got it. Everyone seems happy with the one they have.

obviously, but i don't have a 360 and would like to play this game. the problem is the game is causing the system to fail and possible damage. why should i buy the system if i can't play it?

Scary. I was planning to pick it up this weekend, but now it sounds like that may not be such a good idea O.o I guess I'll be waiting until this issue's resolved before I go grabbing myself a copy then......

This is something else Microsoft will have to add in the next system update, or sega will release a patch for the software.

Now I'm scared to get a 360. But wait a minute does it corrupt the bios or pysicaly destroy the system inside?

is it just me or is the 360 the system with the most problem's? (seriously 3 of my friend's 360's lights turned red and the thing doesn't work anymore)

i doubt it can cause physical damage but corrupt something. there were talks early this year/late last year about the Fight Night 3 demo download doing the same thing.

with all this frequent bad news and proclamations of dead systems the 360 seems poised to take over the ps2 as the shoddiest system ever in my eyes. of course i can't confirm any actual failure rates.

I heard about this problem before. It seems to me there are more and more problems like this occuring on the Xbox. Wasn't it the King Kong game for the Xbox that had to be recalled because it would only play in black and white? I know thats not as serious but why does it only happen to the Xbox?

New systems are always running into problems. You can almost be sure that the PS3 will, too. Maybe not the Wii, though, since Nintendo's strongest point has always been making invincible and invulnerable machines.

You have no idea how funny that comment is. GC had about 10 percent of there initial launch machines be defective as well, which is the average. And I wouldnt call blowing into a machine harder then a french ***** for 2 hours to be an invincible and invulnerable machine.

And I have still yet to see anyone comeback or complain that Chromehounds did that.

I was referring to how one can drop a gameboy off a roof and still be able to play it, but it's true that I don't know anything about the GCN's initial launch.

Not to mention initial releases of Metriod Prime being buggy. Mine froze constantly.

But we all now that getting an NES to load is now such an engineering feat that anyone who accomplishes it is instantly awarded a BS Degree.
