Just gathering people's thoughts on this game. My opinion was that it kicked the universal face. But hey! That's me. What about you?

I loved it too. I don't know if the second will have the same appeal..being that there are different characters and the characters from the first game have small parts..mostly.

Already have the second on reserve, one of the best rps ever.

I've played about half of the first game and I have the second one pre-ordered. Someday I'll finish the first game and play the second, but other games have priority at the moment.

Strangely addictive. After beating the game, I put it down for quite a while. Then one time I just randomly decided to resume it and do all the extra stuff. I managed to play it for 50 hours in one week. I rarely ever have that kind of patients, so it must count for something.

The majority of people loved this game like a naked babe covered in chocolate who is begging you to ravish her...and I felt that way too ^_^ So it's natural what thread prophecies can be made.

On another note, Disgaea 2 will pwn.

I thought it was a good game. One of the more refreshing RPG's to come along in awhile. I also must say I was surprised to get as much fun out of the game as I ended up getting.

I've already preordered and am anxiously awaiting the release of Disgaea 2. Disgaea was a masterpiece, and I can't help but expect the same from the second.

Yeah it's kinda hard to find if you dont wanna get it off the internet. I found it surprising that my local Gamestop had it a few weeks ago, but I usually dont buy from them...

I started up Disgaea last night and played it non stop. I wasn't that far to begin with and all my guys sucked so I trained most of my guys to lvl 30-40(laharl is 48) now I'm getting pretty good items from my 10-1 trick.

This game gets addicting once your party actually can fight.

You mentioned playing it non-stop, but how long (approx.) did it take you to level up characters like Laharl to something like Lv. 48? And, if I can ask, what arena(s) did you use most in doing so? Any strategies you'd reccommend?

The reason I ask is that I actually just started Disgaea myself (I don't think I'm more than 2-hours in at this point) and I'm still learning the ins and outs of the menu's, etc. and am really looking forward to hunkering down and diving into the game. Thus far I've barely ventured past the training arena, but I'd like to get the characters I've got leveled-up, create additional characters, etc. in the near future.

I really enjoy the game so far, but I look forward to getting to this point.

I know the sequel is nearly out by how's the other Nippon Icchi games? In Lu Pucelle Tactics and Phantom Brave.

I remember starting with laharl at 22 yesterday, in lvl 5-3 it has all these invincible enemies that you can stack to make a 122 monster, put that in the only free space and kill it with laharl and he'll grow 5-8 lvls. 7-1 is the exp place.

At first, it's just a case of grind, and grind hard. Each time you beat a map, that means you're strong enough to beat it again. The firstreally good levelling map isn't until Chapter 5.

Leave it until the late game. Once you are able to access the Cave of Ordeals, you'll be able to level your guys to 2000 easily enough. For now, just concentrate on making it through each chapter. If you can't do any given map, just go back and do the previous one again. That should hold you until well beyond the point that you're able to hit the mega-levels.

I enjoyed La Pucelle, but it's a pretty average strategy game and isn't as appealing as Disgaea. Phantom Brave is pretty unique and has a lot of the same craziness Disgaea does, but I really just couldn't get into it. It was just so boring. It probably gets better as it progresses, but I never had the patients for it.

I was in the late hundreds before I even tried going through the map levels. Take my advice: You don't need to wait until late-game to get strong. Go through the map levels until you fight that "exp plus" Zombie fight. You'll know because the whole zone your standing on gives you extra experience. If you know how, you can pawn the map in only a few turns. Do this until you get strong enough to where the Zombies are feeding you beans for experience. Put experience orbs on your weapon (preferably a sword for laharl...I find that once Laharl is super strong...The rest just fall into place..). Go to the item world and capture the monsters required to fill your orbs. When your satisfied, go back to the "exp plus" zombie level, and merge as many zombies as your level can handle by throwing them at each other. Go all out on that super powered zombie, making sure the guy that needs exps gets the final blow (with the weapon decked out in exp orbs). Doing this should give you good experience. All in all, the Zombie level is the foremost leving up area next to the Cave Of Ordeals 3x3 defense robot fight (it's best to have a sword doing this level up exercise because one of the swords special moves is perfect for this AND you unlock the move faster than 3x3 specials with other weapons).
