i've finally found a 1-time use camera that disappeared about 4 years ago. is it still good to develop? there are some great pictures i'd really like to have but don't want to waste the time and money if totally kaput. if it matters, it's a Polaroid from WalMart (yes i fed the beast but that's practically the only store in mississippi) and still in it's little blue box/covering. but it has been exposed to some dust of course (not internally i hope) and something rocks a bit inside when lightly shaken which i don't know if normal or not but is not the sound of something broken (film roll maybe?).

so is it safe to take the plunge? *crosses fingers and toes*

Sure you can take it in to see if they can develop it. If it's not damaged or anything it should be just fine. I had a few disposable cameras that weren't developed for almost two years that I came across not that long ago. If they try to develop the camera at the photo shop and they can't they will tell you, but like I said they probably can as long as it isn't damaged. Hope this helps you some.

I have a disposable camera from my trip to Six Flags, NJ (1993). Any ideas on that?

whoa 13 years?! did you lose it or just kept putting it off to develop? :P somehow i just feel the technology for the camera back then wouldn't make it last for that long but i have absolutely no knowledge of such things.

thanks for the info Ember, i guess i'll just go for it this weekend and hope for the best.

Like I said if the camera isn't damaged it should be fine, but taking the cameras into see if they can be developed isn't a bad idea.

The worst that can really happen is that the resulting images will be discolored, hazy, faded-looking or fuzzy. I'd recommend taking it to Walgreens, since they don't charge you if the pictures don't turn out.
