ps3 launch game recomendation

as the launch of the ps3 comes close more and more games are being confirmed as launch games so i was wondering what game to get. my 2 friends and i are planning to pick it up on launch and want something with a fun online multiplayer. we all like RPGs but i absolutly hate FPSs so if yu could help out i would be very grateful

I dont really want to get PS3 at launch, the only game that I would get would be Call of Duty 3 maybe. Im gonna wait at least till Q1 2007. Assassins creed comes out then and that looks pretty good. Hopefully sony doesnt have any major problems with their first line of ps3 hardware.

i dont know what games will be launch games. the only one i know of is Sonic, which i want pretty bad. if warhawk si launch, ill get that too. i'd like to see a list somewhere of confirmed launch games...

need for speed carbon excellent game ive seen a lot on it. plus devil may cry 4. later games that are reccomended turok and gta4.

This thread is mostly spam already. I'm not seeing much in the way of answers, just more anti-Sony/price sentiment. Did the Wii thread turn out like this? My apologies since comments like those only fuel the flames.

Early E3 demo had Heavenly Sword looking easily the most impressive. I'm sure the days leading to launch will yield some reviews at the major sites. Definitely watch for them. Don't know if there will be anything stellar, but I'm sure we'll see a few 8+ rated games.

Never stopped to think that some of us dislike the direction FF has taken over the last nine years, did you? Or that some of use never really got into the MGS games?

FF and metal gear are two good series and if you dont like them then disregard the statement. MGS4 and FF:13 are not launch games.

Heck, MGS4 is coming out a year after the PS3 launches.

thanks to all of the people that ateast pretended to answer my question. especially n nick that gave an entire list. everyone else sucks XD
based on that list i may just get ridge racers since i enjoyed it so much on the psp. hopefully my friends agree but we do have so difference in tast. one of my friends is a comic book nerd (worst kind in my book ^_^ please dont kill me) so hell want the marvell game. then my other friend is pretty cool since he likes final fantasty and anime and the such but hes also a sports fan so he may want the maden game or hoops (i refuse to pay for a game i can play outside, not that i would.........im lazy). in the end well have to find some middle ground to agree on.

hmm from the ps3 press event at e3, i saw all the games and i think just a few are being released at launch, not really sure i was laughing too much at how bad that one demostrator was flying in warhawk, he developed the game yet cant land on the landing pad, haha, but yea warhawk looks ok as well as mgs4 and resistance, carbon will be great in HD with surround sound, and maybe sports but hopefully they dont make it weird like the 360 game

so from some searching around i did yesterday, most every site is expecting Heavenly Sword to be either a launch game, or a week 2 or 3 game. one sit even said that it would be a UK launch game, meaning it would be the second week for US, maybe the week after.
