hey anyone like Japanese history? well, that's almost a must here, right? ^_^ so lemme ask this, if you were in the Bakufu Era, which side would you be on? the Imperialists (like the Satcho Army and stuff) or the Tokugawa Regime? and if so, why?

Interesting question. :)

I'd probably be on the Imperialist side because through my experiences and readings, I've found that I agree with them on many aspects of government and such.

i assume you mean the bakumatsu period? (haha sorry i couldnt help myself)

im not sure i would really want to be on either side, but im going to go ahead and say id rather be on the bakufu's side because the shinsengumi have those nifty white things hanging from their clothes.

Genuinely a tough call. Meiji was, of course, later to ramrod Japan into the 20th century, but at the cost of cutting out some of its soul. My mind says the Imperialists; my heart says bakufu.
