View Full Version : Seed question

I just finished Seed and have started on Destiny. Maybe I missed something, but how did Kira survive the fight when the Aegis self-destructed? I heard them say something about "the seed" but didn't catch it. He was on earth, then he shows up on Lacis' doorstep on a colony in space. WHAT?

As far as I know, the story of Kira's survival is explained in full in the Astray manga series, although I personally haven't read it.

Maybe they need to make a Gundam Wing Astray series to explain how some of the miraculous survivals in that series happened..

He's been recieving special training from Heero Yuy, who is known to have achieved a similar feat. In Gundam SEED eternity, Kira will start telling everyone he meets that he's going to kill them, and when he is forced to pilot a GINN, it will take down several Gundams.

According to Gundam SEED ASTRAY Vol.2, Lowe Gear just kinda stumbled upon the fight in his MBF-P02 Astray Red Frame when the Aegis then self-destructed. How Kira survived isn't shown, but then later you have Lowe taking Kira to be healed up and stuff. Why that wasn't shown in the anime, I don't know.

At least he hasn't survived a jump from a 30+ floor building without properly deploying his parachute yet... at least as far as I know. These questions often come up in Gundam...

He used his super-bishonen powers. Thats what enables young anime heroes to perform superhuman acts, defeat veteran aces with little or no training, and gain enough understanding of the geo-political situation to influence global politics. But the true wonder, is that all the while, their hair never loses its shape.

Yeah. Sometimes when I've been watching SEED recently, I do wonder about that.. pilots like Athrun and Kira really should have helmet-hair after getting out of their Gundam.

Thats another one. But the one that gets me in any anime work - among other media forms - is that long hair never gets in pilot's eyes during combat. There is a reason why we have regulated hair length in the forces. I am retired from that stuff now, but even as a civilian recreational pilot I never let my hair grow too long. It would be nice to at least see the pretty boys tie it back for once. It would also be nice to see some discipline in militaries in fiction...

True, true.
Everything in the series about giant human shaped robots fighting in space should make perfect sense.

UC is not more realistic, so much as it is slightly less absurd. In either case, I enjoy the UC more personally.

Quick question. Everyone knows that Athuran piloted the Aegis that took down the strike, and was one of the main supporters of the Freedom and the Archangel ad Yachim Due (sp?).

My question is, how many people actually know that the same person that piloted the Strike piloted the Freedom and is actually Cagalli's brother. It seems everyone knows who Athuran is, but they dont really tell you if Kira is all that popular.

You reading comprehension is lacking MC :p

C'mon he's obviously not talking about the fanbase.....

As for your question Rydis no the general population doesn't know about the connection between Strike + Freedom (Strike is a hero to the earth fed yet they would view the Freedom as an enemy), Cagalli & Kira being siblings and the relationship between Lacus & Kira.

I mean Shinn had no idea who was the pilot of the Freedom until Final Plus, people who don't have some sort of connection to Kira (Rey/Gilbert) wouldn't know him unless they fought with him like Yzak+Dearka.

Thats what I figured, but I didn't know if I missed something and it was a given. Just found it odd everyone found Athuran was the pilot but no one question who piloted Freedom.

You're got to remember though that Athrun's "popularity" was really among the ZAFT troops. Of course they would elevate him to hero status over the "unknown" Freedom, as you can see though Kira is well known within the Orb military.

Sure, for example when a character dies in the UC they stay dead. The creator doesn't bring them back to life like they did with Mu who CLEARLY died in SEED-_-;

Yeah, Tomino always makes sure to leave himself gaps to work with when he 'kills off' certain characters. After the people behind Seed magically brought Waltfeld back to life, I entertained the concept of them doing a post-One Year War UC show where Ramba Ral returns for his revenge!

But then the beer began to lose its effect on me...

I've a question about the SEED Destiny dvd's, should I buy the Vol.1 that comes with the box set and buy the other volumes individually, or should I wait unitl they're all released and see if they do a box set of all the volumes.

I know the latter isn't very likely since they haven't done that with SEED yet.

I believe kira was blown free from the strike thanks to a little explosion and alot of love and care. He was then found by Rev. Malchior(sp) who then brought him to lacus.
