Hey everyone, my name is Duffie. I hope to join in the community pretty quickly. One things I came here for, as well, is to spread the word about a new Japanese language learning site. I know a lot of you are very knowledgeable about the culture of Japan, and I think it would be fun for anyone to learn a language in an environment like this one. That's what Connect * Japanese is for.

Here's a clip from the welcome post:
Minasan wa, youkoso. kono webusaito no namae wa Connect * Japanese desu. koko ni hanashi manabu koto ga dekimasu -

Oh, wait, I'm sorry, I've forgotten. You don't know how to speak Japanese! We had better get to fixing that.

Everyone, welcome! This website's name is Connect * Japanese. Here, you can learn to speak Japanese the right way - surrounded by people in the same predicament. We have experienced students, not so experienced students, teachers, and a lot of fun. In short - we are a community.

Most importantly, we have lessons. We've cut away the frills to give you straight forward Japanese. By completing the lessons, you are ready to being your Japanese speaking adventures. Jump right in! We use pictures and ever-changing lesson style to get things to sink in.

We still rely on traditional things like flashcards, but instead of having a boring foreign language class like those in school, we apply it! We have a speaking sandbox, so to speak, for you to play with your new vocabulary. Watch as your fluency soars quickly, as you learn how to use the words in any way possible before you even know it.

Let's do our best! Good luck! Ganbatte ne!

The language is beautiful, and I hope that everyone will get the chance to jump into 日本語. I hope you can join us all at C * J

And I hope I can join you all here at Anime Nation. Have a good day!

I seem to be interesting.
By the way, I must point it out about the comment
>Minasan wa, youkoso.
youkoso minasan(I think dnt need "wa")
>koko ni hanashi manabu koto ga dekimasu -
koko de kaiwa wo manabu koto ga dekimasu(kaiwa means Conversation. hanashi means talk?,say?)

Because It is considerably correct, I can understood.
Can I study English, too?

I really want to learn Japanese, but my high school isn't going to offer it this year. :( I will be taking French, but I would love to learn Japanese at home on the side. :)

Hey Dij I see you u on the site, as newcomer

Yeah, I just signed up. The lessons on here are far simpler than the ones I've done before. And they seem to be more conversational rather than just 'phrasebook' style sentences such as 'where is the town hall' or 'how much is this apple?'. I'm not sure about posting my answers for the lessons past as all the answers are already up. Oh well....I'll start posting answers to the newer lessons.

How do you find these private tutors?

yesjapan.com, japanesepod101.com are both decent, I've been using them, along with books for times when I'm not around a PC. Both are pay sites, I've never been to the one in this thread, perhaps it was free, I dunno, just throwing info out there.
