For those who draw manga characters. What anime, manga,or comic really inspired to draw. What made you love drawing more than anything. Well, for me most pf my whole inspiration's came from sports but there are a few like the creator of street fighter, Ninja turtles, Superman, and last and not least would probably have to be Naoko Takeuchi. Whats yours?

Uh...I was reading Rurouni Kenshin and...I copied a pic from it but made it my own character...I'd post it but I'm too lazy to hook my scanner up to my comp.

Well, to be honest....Pokemon was the first anime that made me get into drawing those types of characters. At that time, I had never been exposed to anime and my artwork mainly consisted of little animals and disney-based characters. Pokemon blew me away with its strange and (at that time) wonderfully creative style! I loved pikachu, still do in fact, and that little electric rodent served to be my muse for some of the first anime-inspired drawings I did.
From there, I went to Sailor Moon and Outlaw Star. I would spend hours trying to draw Aisha Clan Clan down in the basement of my home--trying to master her face and hair. At this time, I began experimenting with colored pencils. I didn't know back then all the secrets and tricks to using them that I know now, and most of my colored drawings were pretty laughable!
After leaving the Outlaw Star phase, I went on to draw Ah! Megami-sama and Tenchi Muyo characters....trying to learn how more advanced styles were executed. I still wasn't quite there in the hair department or clothing fold techniques, so Belldandy was one character that I actually spent hours looking at, trying to see the hidden secrets of how her hair and outfit moved, flowed, and parted when she was in different situations (sitting, standing, in the breeze, etc.). I wasn't very good at drawing bodies still, but managed.
After this, I went on to many different styles of drawing (still not comfortable enough to make my own characters). Dragonball Z, Vampire Hunter D, and tons of other anime helped me along this phase. I got WAY better at using colored pencils, and since my dad worked at Xerox I could get my pencil-lined drawings copied (and thus transferred to ink) for free. I abused this fact quite often. I'd draw something, give it to him, and get it back (often times with 30 extra black and white copies included), and then sit down to color it.
It wasn't until much later that I finally took a pen to my work. It was difficult at first--trying to get good line quality with a pen. I used Queen Emeraldas and video game characters as reference during this time--I'd actually get into the habit of drawing the same image of Queen Emeraldas over and over every year just to see the differences in my skill level. I drew a lot of my own characters (still heavily influenced by other's work...but slowly transforming into my very own style), and perfected my color pencil usage.
After colored pencils, I went to marker (which I still have not gotten the hang of) and computer-aided coloring techniques. I now, thankfully, have my own style and a broad range of original characters under my belt. Unfortunately, I put off trying to draw guys for a long time, so most of my male characters often times end up looking plain (or worse, disfigured in areas). I still have a long way to go before becoming truly skilled, but I've been dedicated thus far so I'm not worried!
^_^.

The first pictures I ever copied were Dragonball Z portraits, and then Naruto. I think there was a little Yu Yu Hakusho in there somewhere as well.

Sailormoon. It was the first anime I ever saw when I was a young lass, and when I went to the B&N one day I saw they had a manga! So, after creating the SMFC (haha, Sailormoon Fan Club) with my cousins, we started buying the manga books and I started learning how to draw then. But that's pretty much it.

I can't quite remember what got me into drawing manga style. I do remember copying Pokémon and DragonBallZ/GT at a young age, but those didn't inspire me to actually DRAW as opposed to copy.
The real inspiration came when I met one of my best friends in the world, Mangaku (at least, that's his old AN handle). He showed me his drawings one day in class, and that was what inspired me to take up sketching. From then on, we became a buddy system of sorts, and we pushed each other to improve just by being near each other and critiquing each other. But of course, that time was a lifetime ago.

Actually its only very recently , like a few month ago i was inspired to draw. Before that i didn't know what i wanted to do in life .
Then i watched NGE and i was like whoa! i wanna do that. So i had a go, just drawing the characters, then i started making up my own and really enjoyed it.
I tried doing a Mech the other day inspired by Evangelion and the result was pretty cool , i think mecha's my things ^_^

Good question, I guess what really inspired me the most was the fact that my friends and I plan to create a manga together someday.

I used to draw game box covers from Nintendo when I was a little kid, thats when I found out I could draw (a little)... so I've been doing it on and off ever since.. I found I liked the anime style best because the characters just look so hot etc

Sailor Moon and some Cardcaptor Sakura...although not much. My biggest inspiration is the art of Sailor Moon and it remains the only anime that I ever draw fanart of. Video games were also big for me, especially the early art of Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, and Soul Calibur for the DC really revived my interest in drawing.

Sailor moon actually inspired me to draw. Oddly enough. Then I got into anime more and and now a lot of anime art inspires me. I tend to love the manga ish more art just because its so much more detailed. I love cel shading I jsut cant get myself to bring shading down to two shades. ^^; I need to have a gradient of color.

What inspires me to draw manga is to be able to create images and stories you don't see in manga/comics today. Something visually different. It's hard to explain for me. lol

I've always loved drawing. I've been drawing since I was little, and it's always been an enjoyable pasttime. It's also a great stress reliever, a way of relaxing when I'm wound tightly. For about an hour or two, I focus all of my attention on what I'm drawing, and I can forget about whatever is stressing me out. It leaves me feeling refreshed and ready to tackle that stress.
Pokémon and Sailor Moon first got me interested in the manga style, but I didn't really start drawing it myself until after one summer at camp. I met another camper who drew in the manga style, and I loved her artwork so much that I was inspired to pick up the art style myself. So I started imitating the art styles of the anime I was watching at the time and of anime-ish video games like Legend of Zelda. I bought books on drawing and after imitating countless of other styles, started to develop my own style.
The rest, as they say, is history. ;)

^ same here. I've always (since age four and up) had a thing for drawing, and when I saw Dragon Ball Z, (the series where they go to defeat frieza...) I liked it a lot. It was like cartoons with a twist, and more of a plot. And then pokemon made me even more crazy about it, so crazy I actually developed my own "creatures" (about 40-50) in 4th grade.
and who doesn't like cartoons anyways? ^.^;;

to be honest dragonball z and zelda were the starters for me. I liked those 2 manga's( but ive seen zelda more in games). I tryed to keep drawing monsters from zelda the most and tryed to create new monsters in zelda. But what can you expect from a 6 years old kid :D i'm not Picasso.
