I was looking around the internet for snacks and I found many of the classics. I know most of us enjoy Pocky and Pretz. Do you have any other favorites?

My favorite would have to be... Giant Strawberry Pocky. I could eat a dozen of those right now, haha.

As for Pretz being Korean

It is written in Japanese, so I assume it is.
I think I originally found AN when searching for snacks, lol.

Koara? They used to sell that here as "koala yummies". That was about 10+ yrs ago. I still have the commercial stuck in my head...

I love the gummy fruit chew things....the orange ones are the best^_^.
I'm not too fond of pocky, but those gummy things disappear quickly when I'm around them....

Meiji's "Ka~ru (Curl)". It's texture is very similar to Cheetos cheese puffs, but the taste is slightly different. Yum.
Almost any type of senbei crackers. Norimaki, curry, salad, etc. Good with tea or beer. My snack of choice at home.
Taiyaki. It's a waffle type cake filled with sweet beans inside, shaped like a bream fish. It just makes me happy to see a Taiyaki shop or stand while I'm in Japan. Delicious.
And I have fond memories of "yakiimo," the yakiimo van, and it's yakiimo music (http://www.davidandkiyomi.com/audio/yakiimo.mp3). Heartwarming food.

Thise do rock! Although for snacks, cant go wrong with Onigiri. I'd kill for some right now. I don care if it's not sweet, I can eat those for the rest of my life, and allways enjoy it. Rice balls = good.

Besides Pocky, I like Pucca (I'm not sure if that's what it's called, it's crackers with chocolate in them), peach gummy candy (I don't know the actual name), and botan rice candy.

Well just recently (about 5 days ago) on my way coming back from ECL (East Coast Lan) I stopped by the asian market about 20 minutes from my house. After looking around I decided to go with chocolate pocky (never tried it before, but was interested ever since watching Onegai Teacher (those who have seen it know why). Anyways, the stuff is great! Thefore I must give my vote to pocky. Simply because its cheap (got about 200+ for like 3 bucks) and its good stuff to snack on.

:P Yeah I remeber that!
As for mine...hmmm...I dunno, there's so many great and tasty Japanese things >_<!!!
Here are some of my favorites:
Baby Star Crispy Noodle Snack, Caramel Corn, Ume Candy, Cream Pan, Green Tea Milk Candy, and I don't know the name of them but they are these strawberry creme filled cookies.
I'm probably forgetting some and there's probably many more super tasty snacks I have never tried.

My mom makes those during New Years ^_^. We used to call them "football musubi" when we were little -_-;.

It's called "atsuage" and it's like fried, flavored tofu skin.
I found these blueberry jam-filled marshmallows at a local Japanese food mart I used to be the manager of. I forget who makes it, but all my friends love them. I hate American marshmallows, but Japanese ones aren't loaded with sugar. Unfortunately, since we don't have any input on the purchasing anymore, we can't find it anymore. :( And speaking of marshmallows, last time I went to the Snoopy Town in Harajuku, they had some flan/"pudding" flavored marshmallows. Super yum.

Tenkei makes them, and I believe another company does too.
I agree with you that the Japanese marshmallows are way better than American ones. I've had the flan flavored one too and they were pretty good but I think I prefer the fruit flaored ones insted. But I've never tried blueberry flavored.

Mochi are mediocre. Hate the after taste of the outer-layer, but the bean paste layer is alright.
Not Japanese, but dragon beard candy is good.
Singaporean pocky is nice. And Pepero

Any snack that I eat on a daily bases get's old after a few months; and pocky... that was gone after two weeks.

That stuff is the best; it's almost like milk-flavored.
I like wasabi peas alot, too, and those crispy balls with the smaller balls inside them... i really can't remember what they are called or made out of (probably rice on the outside), but they are individually wrapped...
Anyway, I'm the only guy I know that's not a Pretz man, though.

I forgot exactly what it was, but my friend had this green tea candy that was like one of those little hard mints you can find around everywhere, only grea tea. The things would stick to the roof of my mouth so much >_<

Human organs in vending machines.
My favorite are Kasugai Gummy candy and Yukimi Daifuku. Actually, any mochi ice cream is fine but Yukimi Daifuku is the best among the other brand. @.@
I don't really think Onigiri is a snack, but a real food. However, if it's counted for a snack, Onigiri is also my favorite as well. O_O

As far as cookies go no it isn't the best. They aren't always very sweet (depending on the type) but I think that is why I like them. They are also convienent. You can eat them anywhere. And they are cheap. Which is a must for college students.

That's reasonable. The thing I don't understand is why anime fans often treat Pocky as divine Ambrosia.

As a guess? Because it's part of the identity and, on some level, a reinforcement of inclusion to a group.
But that's just my opinion. (I like the pineapple, the strawberry, and the dark choclolate/pretzel ones myself.)

I tried this candy called Milky. It's pretty good, but it seems hard to get a good bag of them. They are supposed to be soft and chewy, from my understanding. I keep on getting bags with ones that are rock-hard (with maybe one or two soft ones in it).

I've never had them, and I am not sure if they would count, but I saw these things called Pretz at this site:
http://www.asianmunchies.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=A&Category_Code=B (scroll down near the bottom of the page)
They have more healthy flavors (like tomato or salad), and usually pretzel stuff is a lot better for you than other snacks. I'd like to try the tomato kind some day.

I like those squishy green mochi balls with coconut on the outside. ^_^
And healthy snacks? um.... things like dried sweet potato, maybe? (I like that too)
I'm not a big fan of Pocky. It's ok, but it's too, I dunno, lardy. Just tastes like fat. I'd prefer if it were crunchier and biscuitier. But not just salty like Pretz...
