I am quite partial to Kira's Wabisuke, in terms of shikai. Wabisuke appeals in its simple, not very destructive power (compared to others, yes, I'm looking at you Ryuujin Jakka) but its devastating effects.
Honourable mentions: Juushirou's Sougyo no Kotowari and Shunsui's Katen Kyoukotsu, because two swords is just cool, though we don't know about their abilities past that they split.

Hitsugaya's Hyourinmaru has an awesome looking bankai, but I diddn't really get what it did in the few seconds it was shown.
Honourable mentions: None really, we havn't seen enough bankai's yet.

Favorite Shikai: Tie - Sode no Shirayuki (Kuchiki Rukia), Zabimaru (Abarai Renji) and Senbonzakura (Kuchiki Byakuya)

Favorite Bankai: Tie - Tensa Zangetsu (Kurosaki Ichigo) and Daiguren Hyorinmaru (Hitsugaya Toushirou)

Hitsugaya's is definitely my favorite. It looks awesome, and the flowers are cool (okay, litterally, but...).

My second favorite is Ikkaku. I wanna make it.

Byakuya's Senbonzakura is my favorite, in both forms. It's definately one of the deadliest and most original weapons in Bleach, yet only a weilder such as Byakuya can make it badass.

As for the shikai, i think Renji's Zabimaru is the best. Its got multiple uses, maximum range, and is just plain awesome looking.

Bankai, Hitsugaya's is pretty cool but i dont get what it does exactly. For now, i think ill hop on the bandwagon and go with Ichigo (why the heck is a nazi symbol on the hilt!!?).

It's the Japanese kanji for the "ban" (meaning "full") in Bankai.

I like both Ichigo's shikai and bankai the best. Zangetsu is just a really cool sword. I like the combo of simplicity and power of it compared to the others, not to mention it looks bad*** in both forms.

According to him, his soul slayer is always at shikai just like Zangetsu. He has so much spirit power that he can't seal it. However, he currently doesn't know how to use any attacks with it, let alone bankai. I don't think he's even learned its name yet.

Zangetsu is always in shikai becuase Ichigo can't contain his spirit force and he knows the name the name IS ZANGETSU!!!!

he has acheived Bankai too, what do you call the thing he fought Buyukaya with?

I think every shinigami has shikai
I think the whole thing was that he was so obsessed in becoming stronger he didnt bother to learn his swords name.

After the ichigo/kenpachi fight he points out that he sad because he didnt have a name, and he also felt guilty for not acknowledging his sword by its name. And so he tries to learn its name but he cant. so he keeps trying so he can become stronger

In the fight with ichigo you learn that he is the only captain who can not release Zanpakutō, but you also learn that his spiritual energy is so great he constantlly releases something along the lines of bankai.

Yes i do know what i am talking about and just a few moments ago corrected that to what i actually ment, wich was kenpachi, plus when i was writing that it was late and i got zangetsu confused with zaraki

Yamajii's bankai is the scary one though. Look at his shikai. What the hell is his bankai like? He says bankai and the world lights on fire?

Are you talking about looks or abilities? If its abilities, why would people choose Ichigo's Bankai? It only increases his speed, changes Getsugatensho from a white/light blue wave to a black wave and changes his shihaksho(clothing). It doesn't appear to increase damage to his opponents, even though its said that the user's power increases 5 to 10 times, although he hardly uses Getsugatensho in his Shikai state. Even in Bankai, his opponent hardly gets damaged or suffers no damage at all from Getsugatensho. I suppose Ichigo's speed is the only thing that increases unlike all other Bankai users whose power increases(well, their zanpakuto's power is what actually increases).

Favorite Bankai Attack(looks) - Captain Kuchiki's Senbonzakura Kageyoshi, even though it doesn't appear to be as powerful as everyone says. He's used it against Renji, but Renji survived with lots of cuts and continued to fight. Used against Ichigo and it gave him cuts and acted like it was nothing when he got up and then he used his Bankai and showed no signs of being weakened from Byakuya's attack. Kariya(filler arc) got hit with it and it gave him some cuts and then he healed himself. Used against Zommari and he was cut up but he continued to fight. No one has been killed by it, except in the movies against the guy Rukia was fighting in Movie 1 and the Menos in Movie 2. Not sure about Movie 3 since I haven't seen it yet. Its also cool looking in that he can change the form of his Bankai, as seen against Ichigo andZommari
So far, he is the only one whose Bankai can change forms.

Favorite Bankai Attack(ability) - Not sure since none really impress me in terms of destructive capabilities to an opponent based on what I've seen. If someone is revealed to have an ability just likeSesshomaru's Bakusaiga from the manga/anime Inuyasha, which was born out of him, then that would be great since if you get hit with it, you're pretty much done for due to its decomposing ability and it also stops the ability to heal if that is an ability his opponent has. The only way to survive is to separate the part that's hit from you, which would only be your arms and legs, but after that, what can you do? Also, it can destroy 1,000 demons in one stroke and I've never seen anything come close to that in Bleach, since hollows are pretty much like the demons that are destroyed because both of those hollows and demons are killed easily with no effort at all.

Favorite Shikai Attack(looks) - Captain Ukitake's Sogyono Kotowariit allows him to absorb his opponents attack and fire it back at them, similar to Inuyasha's Backlash Wave. It looks awesome to use an opponents very own attack against them and its just the ultimate insult when it damages, defeats or kills themThis isn't limited to just Bleach, but any manga or anime that allows you to use an opponent's attack against them looks cool IMO.

Favorite Shikai Attack(ability) - Captain Kurotsuchi's Ashisogi Jizo, since if it touches you, you are paralyzed, although its only been used twice and that was against Uryu and Sawatari(filler arc). If they can't move, then you can do whatever you want to make them suffer and you can take your time.

I know that people would or are saying that Aizen's Shikai would probably be the best in terms of ability, but the way Aizen uses it is pathetic and ultimately makes him a coward and weak, even though he CLAIMS to be far more powerful than a captain. He won't even release the people he's used it on from it to give them a chance and he also used it on his allies. If he is so powerful, why use it on you allies and why won't he fight without resorting to destracting his opponent with his Shikai and then attacking from another direction, or tricking your opponents into attacking each other, as seen when he tricked the captains into believing Momo was him and so they ended up attacking her
