1. Lone Wolf and Cub.
2. Was made into 6 live action movies.
3. 28
4. 9/10
5. An episodic journey of a vengeful samurai father and his 3 year old son through Edo Japan. From the 70's.

1. Akira
2. One big movie.
3. 6
4. 10/10
5. The movie is faemous but lackluster. The manga is a masterpiece.
About phychics and the havoc caused by them in Neo-Tokyo.

1. One Piece
2. Yes. 250 something+
3. 43+
4. 8/10
5. Pretend the english dub dosen't exist, its a great shonen epic about pirates on a sea route heading toward ancient secrets. Very wacky and cool at the same time.

1. Berserk
2. Yes, 25.
3. 31+
4. 9/10
5. About a swordsman who seeks to take revenge on his former army commander who has ascended to godhood. A very dark gothic tale that is a better european fantasy then most western ones. The anime is very abrupt and limited compared to the epic manga.

1. Naruto
2. Yes
3. 35+
4. 5/10
5. About young ninjas trying to be better ninjas. The first 16 volumes are great shonen fun. But the next 4 lag, then everything after that is very dull and bleh. Will dissapoint you after its first big story arc.

1. Bleach
2. Yes
3. 20 something+
4. 3/10
5. About a teenage boy who becomes a grim reaper essentially. Great first 4 volumes. Truly excellent.
Then it turns into a display of cliche.

1. Rave Master
2. Yes.
3. 20 something+
4. 1/10
5. ARGH! A cast of cliches fight akward sword and power battles in order to find cliche items and fend off cliche villains. Exceedingly lame. Its like One Piece meets Lord of the Rings told by a bufoon.

1. Gantz
2. Yes
3. 10 something+
4. 5/10
5. A very weird story where everyday people get "killed" then warped into weird battlefields to fight aliens. Its alright if you don't get tired of the unlikable cynical atmosphere and cast, and are able to just enjoy the alien fighting.

1. Naausicaa of the Valley of Wind
2. It was made into a movie.
3. 7, or 4. Depending on what edition you buy.
4. 11/10
5. The best comic in the world. Better then Akira. Better then Watchmen. The movie is just an akward retelling of less then 1/4 of the manga.

Bleach is on my mental list of manga I want to read. I love ghost stories/grim reapers stories like that...

1.Samurai Deeper Kyo
2.No, no anime. There is an anime with the same name, but has completely different storyline.
3.38 volumes total, 20 in U.S. and Canada
4.I rate this 10/10
5.Note: this is NOT a rip-off of Kenshin. This is simply onr of the best manga series ever.

1)Gantz
2)Yes, 26
3)36+
4)10/10
5)This can be very hard for some people to digest, but if you stick with it, the payoff is huge. Those cynical characters that everyone, including myself, hates at the beginning grow up into likeable characters who you care about. Unlicensed at the moment.

1)Eden: It's an Endless World!
2)nope
3)14
4)9/10
5)Just like Gantz, this one is heavy on themes, although not as much with the gore. If you're the type who likes reading into things and discovering hidden philosophical themes, then this one is for you. Licensed with 3 volumes out already.

1)Pretty Face
2)nope
3)6
4)7/10
5)I know it's something that has been done a million times before, but it is still enjoyable. Unlicensed.

1)Naruto
2)yes, 190+
3)41+
4)8/10
5)Much better than the anime (with a few exceptions, such as the Roaring Tears battle). Plus, no fillers. It might just be another ordinary shounen action type show, but there's much more underneath that. Don't sell it off as a typical DBZ clone, and you'll find a highly enjoyable manga series. Licensed.

I'll add more later.

1.Cardcaptor Sakura
2. can't recall.
3.12
4. 10/10
5. Very good if you are new to the wonderful world of Japanese comics, Or need to bleach your mind after watching something graphic.
Very cutesy, little to no violence for all ages.
Contains homosexuality for the religious' information.

1.Shin Shirayuki-Hime densetsu Pretear.
2. 13 (?)
3.4
4. 9/10
5. One of the best magic girl manga. Animation-wise, could be better.

Case Closed
Yes, idk....ALOT though
50, I believe?
9.5 if not a 10
A great detective manga, sometimes kiddy, but always great nonetheless

1.The Wallflower
2.I don't think so...
3.7 currently in America I believe
4. 9/10
5. I LOVE this manga! So different from the usually 'pretty guys live with girl' mangas. The main girl Sunako is dark, twisted, loves the macabre, and is utterly strange! This is just such a cool manga, if you can get past the loads of cross-dressing, drag-queen wanabee guys >_<.

1)Immortal Rain
2) Sadly, no.
3) I'm not sure if 7 is all of them, but that's how many are listed.
4) 9/10
5) Excellent storyline. The characters and romance is adorable. An all around great read! I highly recommend it!

1) The Demon Ororon
2) Sadly, no.
3) Only 4
4) 8/10
5) Great storyline and the plot is kind of twisted towards the end. The storyline is very different from any other manga I've read. I recommend this one as well. :D

1) Chrono Crusade
2) Yes, 26 eps. I believe
3) 8, 7 are out now
4) 9/10
5) As much as I loved the anime, I think the manga is better in that the plot is better and there is more character development. I love the relationship between Rosette and Chrono. And of course, I recommend this one, too! :P

1) Magic Knight Rayearth
2) Yes, 49 episodes (TV) and 3 episodes (OVA)
3) 6
4) 8/10
5) The best work of CLAMP on both TV and Manga. All characters are well developted and the story keeps getting better and better.

1) Nana
2) Yes, 17 so far and a Live-Action Movie
3) 16 (ongoing)
4) 9/10
5) One of the best stories I've read in my life, if you don't like this shoujo you should give this one a chance to change your life and a plus if you like music. :)

1) Maison Ikkoku
2) yes, 96 episodes, one movie
3) 15 volumes (all of which have been released in the States)
4) 10/10!!
5) A Rumiko Takahashi classic! :) It's the best romantic comedy I've ever read, and I think it's worth it to anyone to give it a try. (It's also relatively short, for a Takahashi manga. :P )

1) InuYasha*
2) yes, 167 episodes, four movies
3) 46 in Japan, 27 in U.S; series is still ongoing in Japan
4) 8/10
5) IMO, it's a good blend of Japanese folklore and action, with romance of the subtle flavour at which Rumiko Takahashi is so good. Also, the manga is MUCH better than the anime--no fillers, for one! It's one of my favourite series.

1) Black Cat
2) yes, 26 episodes
3) 3 in the U.S
4) 8/10
5) It's an intersting series, in part because of the characters: they, and their pasts, are, at the very least, intriguing. There's also plenty of action, and since the main character is a former-assassin-turned-bounty-hunter, you can guess what kind of action it is.

1) Alice 19th
2) not that I know of
3) 7 in the U.S (complete)
4) 7/10
5) It's different. The main weapon of choice the characters use is words. (Yes, words.) For romance junkies, it has the complicated love polygon that seems to be Watase Yuu's style. And remember, "The power of the heart resides in words." ;)

1) Hikaru no Go
2) yes, 75 episodes in Japan; I don't know how many in U.S
3) 23 in Japan, 7 in U.S; serialized in Shonen Jump
4) 10/10
5) A different approach to the shônen genre. It takes all those shônen elements--friendship, self-discovery, overcoming obstacles, etc.--and places them in a most unusual setting: around the go board. It's the kind of title you normally wouldn't think of picking up, but it's truly worth the read.

1) Shaman King
2) yes, 64 episodes in Japan, I don't know how many in U.S
3) 9 so far in U.S (I think); serialized in Shonen Jump
4) 7/10
5) I don't think I need to say it's about a shaman whose goal is currently to be the Shaman King; the title sort of explains that. (This series happens to have one of my favourite female characters in all manga--Kyôyama Anna, the ultimate Miss No-Nonsense.)

1) Busou Renkin
2) not that I know of
3) one so far in U.S
4) 7/10
5) From the creator of Rurouni Kenshin! It's about a boy who was killed but was then brought back to life when a girl put a kakugane--an alchemic device that manifests itself into a busou renkin--in the hole where his heart had been.

* elaborating on InuYasha, since killmekissme wasn't able to give the total number of volumes

3.38 volumes total, 20 in U.S. and Canada

well in Canada this depends on if you read it in Enlgish or in French (in French it is on volume 27)...^_^

EDIT: I think there is a Anime series too (26 eps if IIRC), although I don't know if it's released in Egnlish too...
