Woah, nice and involved ^_^ The little things like the moss on the rock, and the ripples and reflection in the water are well carried out. Especially nice for natural media. Those little pink plants draw my eye; possibly even more than the characters themselves! Just something about the way they're rendered. (Maybe it's the fierce red behind them...)

The little lady has some extremly dainty hands and feet! Maybe just a bit too small (mostly with the hands).

Overall, though, one can easy tell you spent alot of time on this work. Do you normally make such complex pieces, or is this a standout piece for you? I suppose we'll see as time goes on... but for now, welcome to the forum, you're made a nice start!

Laurencesan...great work of art hun!!

And what's wrong with small hands and feet???? I got small hands and feet!! :P

Anyway, the detail work is excellent...but the girls eyes could be worked on somewhat...

That's about it tho, really...other than that, wonderful work!!

Look forward to viewing more!!

That was my big problem with hands and feet in the past. The picture was maded few years ago.

But next picture is created this year. I think you see the evolution, isn't that ? ^_^

Yeah it does look much better. Especially the face, sexy ;o now unlike before.

Hands are too small though, and it seems you measure the proportion of the feet according to the hands, the feet are kinda small ish too. Hands should be as big as chin up to slightly above the brows. Yours seems only half that long.

In the first pic, it's really hard to focus on anything. This is in part because of all the saturated colors. The other reason is because people's eyes are automatically drawn to any human element in an image, but your surroundings are better defined than your characters. I think that's the biggest problem. The colors in the characters are mostly of the same value, translation: there's not enough contrast. You might've gotten away with less contrast if the lines were bolder. The lineart is nice and delicate, but it isn't really doing much for the charas. They're not bold enough to make the characters stand out from the rest of the pic. I really like your rock, it's cool and artsy and looks like it was fun to color.

2nd image: Nice pose, cool shirt. She has no toes? The toes should really be defined. Rememer that there's the space between a person's eyes is usually around the width of one eye. Also, she looks a bit cross-eyed. The proportions aren't bad although as others have said, bigger hands would be good. I'm a bit confused about the monitor. The black is in front of her legs so it's obviously and edge, but her hands are resting on the grey edge. And don't be afraid when shading, experimenting and making mistakes will only make you more experienced and better.

I'm glad because you like that.Sorry for the colours in the first image. The image is too saturated because it was recontrasted when the scanner done his job. And yes , that rock rules! :)

Don't tell me about the shadow ! :)

Well, the left leg (her right) is too short for the rest of her body. It makes her seem gimpy or something. And the foot on her left leg is at the wrong angle. It should be pointed towards her shadow, not up.

I like the coloring of her skin and clothing, but her hair is way too saturated for the overall picture. It doesn't mesh well with the rest, making too much of an awkward contrast that distracts the viewer's eye.

Her chest seems really thick to me....her breasts probably should be drawn closer to the edge of her back. That would make the breast plate seem thinner, and keep her from looking too 'top heavy'. Right now, it looks like she has a man shape; her almost non-exsistant hips are off-balanced by her thick chest and tiny shoulders. Making her thinner up on top would help balance the flow of the picture.

Her right eye looks like it is hanging off the side of her face. It should never hit the edge of the head like that....try moving it closer to the bridge of the nose, and cutting it off (where the nose overlaps it).

Sorry ^_^.

I just like to give constructive critism...the picture isn't bad per se, there are just things that could be improved upon.

All artwork can be improved one way or another. You said that this was done a few years ago? Do you have more recent works that can be displayed? It would be interesting to see the differences :)

I think your pictures with the backgrounds would suit itself than with your characters. In my opinion, I think your technique of drawing them ruins the background.
Great work.

You put in a lot of OBVIOUS details. But you missed out on the more SUBTLE details.

These are things such as perspective, correct proportion, correct foreshortening.

If it's me I'd spend hours smoothing out the small, less obvious details and a lot less of flowery patterns and little windows.

That said there's definitely talent here, and your landscape picture looks very promising.
