Unless it stars David Hayter as Snake, I won't be interested. Well, even then, it'd better be well written.

hell no!!

I much rather have him write it than to be the main character, hayter is a good screen writer when it comes to comic book based characters and will like to see him write a screen write for a a video game based movie.

Michael Biehn should be solid snake, I think MG fans already know that hideo based snake's looks on him. So what better way than to have the actor's likeness play solid snake,plus he is around the same age solid snake is at in the first MGS game and still has the hard look to him.

A CGI movie isn't a bad idea, the MGS4 trailer almost feels like a movie itself.

As for live action Kurt Russell and Micheal Bien is perfect for the old Snake part. Angelina Jolie can play Meryl, and Clint Eastwood as Ocelot. Plus, we'll have David Hasselhoff as the Big Boss....LOL

....You can't be serious. You know that Big Boss is American right? So are Solid Snake, Otacon, Ocelot and many others. Most characters in MGS are either American or Russian. And sometimes we get the weird one like Raiden from somewhere in Africa. So just drop your anime influenced eletism.

I don't think so. Assuming it has some type of production quality it could be very good, MGS is one of the game series out there that is very movie adaptable.

Why does it matter? Are the MGS games going to suddenly be less fun to play because an American movie was made with Metal Gear Solid in the title? I wouldn't think so.

You're getting mad about a movie of a game you've obviously never played.

The only confirmed Asian in MGS is the Chinese-American Meiling.

I could care less if they make crappy movies for every game I ever enjoyed. Won't change my mind about the title. In fact, a bad sequel is MUCH more likely to sour me on a series than any crappy movie will.

I find your overwhelming faith in the series encouraging, Snake. Fact is, every gamer (you and I included) know how bad game-movie adaptations are. It's like they try too hard or something.

Also, about snake being japanese/american/whatever, Kojima has said that the character of Snake has no nationality, so that anyone of any nationality can relate to him. Granted, he's generally portrayed as an American soldier, and has that Western look to him, but in general, he's supposed to be beyond nationality.

Sean Connery is Big Boss. Thats how he looked in MG1. That or it was MG2. So yeah, Kojima used a lot of hollywood actors to base his characters off of. The man is a movie fanatic.

i think that with Kojima overseeing things as far as the scripts, actors, setting, etc it couldnt be too bad. The thing that drives MGS is the amazing story. This and a lot of the action is cutscenes. Many games suck and would suck if being made into a movie. But i think MGS is one that could pull it off and be sweet. Lets just hope Kojima has a role in the production.

Too much story, and they would cut out classic Boss battles to shorten time. :(

As for genre, I'm not sure how it could go right, but it could go way wrong if they made it some hoaky James Bond clone.

I hope they make a METAL GEAR SOLID movie on the MGS story line. Not just a new story, but thats probably what hes doing

As for the whole we need a CGI movie, I agree but in retrospect you have to say that we already have a CGI movie in the games. I think it would be cool either way. im def. seein it no matter the reviews. I dont think it could be that bad.
