I'm digging the first 3 eps so far. Promising plot, promising story, and quite original too, even if you can say the settings isn't anything unique.

And from what the reviews said it seems to be a lot like rahxephon, in that forshadowing and background details are superbly done. Ie. everything is there for a reason, and that those details come back again in later eps.

Also the artists or char designer seem to be the same. I dunno the style reminds me a lot of rahxephon. Xephon is more refined though, but this one still has many of the strengths that makes Xephon really good.

Any thought on this anime?

the first 5 or 6 episodes are good, but the series goes downhill from there.

i wouldn't recommend it.

the only thing that bugs me so far is that grinning Ken doll in a space suit at the ending credit... it just looks so wrong... specially in an anime that seems to have little to do with space exploration =_= Not to mention the closing song is kinda horrid imo.

Fortunately the OP is much better.

The show is good, but tend to fall into a monster of the week routine. And not all the characters get developed as much I would like.

An Argento Soma thread? That caught me off guard. Yeah, I like it. It's always seemed to me that it wasn't apperciated all that much or atleast very overlooked. The drastic change from episode 1 to the later parts of 3 is what I found most interesting. Ryu was rather odd main character as well. I love how his character evolved and how his hatred kept building and building. I won't say anymore then that. Good stuff, just not great.

The ending theme is just weird as all hell. I mean... wow it's so out of place, but the song is pretty funny and it slowly grew on me. I also think it's stupid how the DVDs started to play the opening an ep or so too early. I originally watched the fansubs where the OP didn't show up till around episode 4 if I remember correctly. I supposed the DVD covers will give it away anyway.

One of the best of the older, "I've-never-heard-of-that-one-before" animes.

Older? Heh? Are you thinking of something else like Votoms? Argento Soma is only like 5-6 years old....

I thought it's very good, or may be even great <3 hattie she's so cute XD Some of the dialogues are a bit forced, and can lack polish at certain parts, but still awesome.

Char design is very good, the girls are really pretty, the guy are kinda hot also :P

Anyways why did the red headed chick guinevera green died? we're only shown her grave at the end but I dunno what killed her

And oh I think it's like the 1st anime I've ever watched that takes place in US I mean like the first everrrr XD I's pleasantly surprised they got most of the settings and geography correct. :P Most robot anime is usually in galaxy far far away or in we all know, Japan of course.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I just finished rewatching this series last night and felt like checking in to see if anyone has really ever talked about it.

To toss out my 2cents this has to be one of the best under rated series ever IMO. It does have its ups and downs but it all comes together in the end. That is one of the reasons I think the middle section is harder to watch because it leaves so much to answer but it just keeps asking more with nothing to give back in return.

I as well even at ep. 1 wonder what the heck was up with the closing but for those that actually watched the whole series they know what is up with it. If you havnt seen the whole show yet then please do and you will understand why the ending credits are as they are. Also if you watch the EX ep. the ending is great but Im not going to ruin it for anyone.

So 5 episodes?
[SPOILER]As soon as that alien reached earth, and they revealed the reason for their being, I just threw all respect I had for the series (well, mostly)... And that crazy guy with the apple (forgot his name) lost his cool-factor by the end as well...

Argentosoma is an old anime. I like it, maybe I was in Evangelion mood that day.. :P

About..

She has exposed by the X ray during the space ship accident, but her uncle (mr with the apple) gave her a chance to be a pilot anyway. As a matter of fact she's dying because of the cancer
