Since the old DVD Collection thread was deleted, here is its rebirth. This thread is here for you to post pictures of your anime DVD collection and to view and comment on the collections of other members.

In fear of having missing discs, I recently unwrapped all of my DVDs. No discs were missing and the collection looks a little nicer now I think.

To host your pictures, make sure you're not posting full size images. Use Imageshack (http://www.imageshack.us/) or Photobucket (http://www.photobucket.com/) to host your pictures and then use links or thumbnails.

People like having a place to post pictures of their collection and nobody wants this thread deleted, therefore:
1) Post, don't spam.
2) Don't start making unnecessary comments about the presence of bootlegs in someone's collection. That is their business, not yours.
3) Keep this thread on topic. There is a difference between having a conversation in the context of the thread and going off on a two-man tangent. Remember, that's what PMs are for.
4) Avoid making posts that will just make people angry. Not everyone will agree with you. Don't start a flamewar with someone if they don't like your collection or disagree with your opinion.

About the anime marathons - I would have invited you - I do these kind of things almost at a weekly base, but, if you look at my location... I live in Israel, pretty far from all of you good people:(.

I have to recommend Saint Seiya it's become one of my favorite older series.

ADV just re-released the first 60 episode's of Saint Seiya in two thinpak sets at $ 49.98 Msrp a piece I think I've seen them for $38.99 apiece at a very popular retail store .

I read the Maison Ikkoku manga, but I have never seen the anime. I'm more so a huge manga fan but I still like anime.

Hmm..I also see you have the same shelves as I do. I bought mine when Best Buy had them on sale for 29.99 a piece. They're not bad, but that bottom half has so must wasted space.

LOL, no, they're just random swords. One of them is a Kit Rae collectible. Not battle-ready tho.

And yes, I am very much into heavy metal. Had I took pics below the anime, you'd see my cd collection. I have two full rows of just nothing but metal cds.
I listen to other stuff too, but I love my heavy metal.

I have Azumanga Daioh vol. 2-3, Pretear vol. 2-4 and Vampire Princess Miyu (OAV) vol. 2 in my collection now, which changed the look quite a bit. I think the Kyo Kara Maoh box look nice too, but I wish it was an artbox rather than a "disc book" (still like it though).

Well I just bought the ping pong club collection and the dvd 4 of kyo kara. I'll buy the other dvds later when I have money. I just wanted to make sure I got the disk book! Wish it was an art box too, but a disk book is fine by me. lol

I just ordered the Saiyuki Reload Gunlock box because it was on sale (I skipped Reload. lol), along with Azumanga Daioh vol. 4-6 and two manga. I plan on ordering the first Sailor Moon box on Saturday. My collection looks fine, but the order it's in is really messy . . . . -_-; Oh, and thanks for the comments! Everyone has such nice looking collections. ^_^

I've seen Berserk before I borrowed it from a friend I did not care for it much at the time .
It's one of those series I should have liked alot but' it just did not do much for me.
Maybe if I ever see the alpha pack at Best Buy or on sale some place again I'll pick it up when I have the extra cash and give it another shot but' I have alot of other things I would rather watch.

Maiden is my all time favorite band hope to be able to see them live at least once more. Almost 50 years old and ****inson can still jump the Drummer Nicko .

I did almost the same with s-CRY-ed except I bought the first volume with box when it was first release then ended up getting the complete set did not like the design Bandai sent me the a six singles covers so I bought some DVD case's from Walmart put them in the original artbox then sold my extra copy of volume 1 and kept the swag it came with. The necklace rocks.

shawaazu, just to let you know I bought the madlax box with dvd 1 at best buy for 11 dollars. I don't know if every best buy is selling it for that price, but you can go check. Also you can probably trade or sell dvd 1 for around 10 dollars.

Best buy actually had a few deals, So I'll post what I saw for you guys. Hopefully every best buy has these deals.

These DVDs used to be on a rack in my closet. I pulled that rack out and stuck my dresser in the closet so everything can be together. Why I didn't do that when I originally made the setup is a mystery to me. :P

About half of the anime I buy I've already seen, so no, I guess I could say I don't watch that. (Mostly those are shows I watched fansubs of or have rented in the past. But I do get around rewatching those shows...eventually.) Everything else that I buy, I watch once I get it.

i watch anime all the time...i mean c'mon man...ITS SUMMER MAN! even though i'm taking summer school and working 8 hours a day...i still find time every night to watch anime...i got my suitemates always coming in my room BEGGING me to watch some of my series' (we're in the middle of peacemaker right now which is pretty good IMO). All the anime i own i will eventually get around to buying...i just like to find it now at the cheapest price and then go back to it no more than like a year later.

Anyway, back to the subject on the thread...i'll post my collection the DAY my birthday arrives (July 10)...i'm definitely excited about posting it cuz i've expanded my collection SIGNIFICANTLY since the last time i posted.

I keep them in the disc book, but the original dvd cases are behind the book. I only have 4 of them so far, everytime I get money to buy more, a deal for another boxset comes up and I end up buying a boxset instead. Thinking about it, you're the reason I bought kyo Kara maoh. I seen the box in your collection, so I went to check what it was about, and then I bought it.

I'm dying to read the last rurouni Kenshin. My cousin actually bought the last volume and said he'll give it to me. But he's on vacation right now, so I'll have to wait a month till he gets back. Oh well, at least its free

I've been collecting since july 6 2005 and all I had was Fullmetal Panic complete collection, Full Metal Panic Fumufu?, Sorcerer Hunters and the OVA, Neon Genesis Evangelion Platinum vols 1-4, Dot hack legend of the twilight vol 1, Tenchi Muyo GXP vols 2-5, Samurai X DVDs, and R.O.D OVA.

Actually thats not a boxset. I just turned the dvd's around, I thought it look cooler that way. And for the record I have all the fighting spirit dvd's that have come out in america, some are just hiding behind the dvd thats turned around.

hey Jeikobu, those are actually shijitaki or pencilboards. i don't know any1 that uses them but, they have really nice art on them so, i taped em to my wall. as for the Aoi stand up, it came as in a packin extra with one of my AYA artbooks

don't be envious my friend, there are tons of other collectors out there with a crapload more stuff than me. just collect what you enjoy, and you will have the best collection of all :)

Samurai Drifter & Dazzlekitty: Correct on both counts, certain series have been lucky enough to get mini shijitaki ie. Ah! Megami-sama movie, Kannaduki no Miko, ROD tv etc. Geneon is the studio that tends to put out the mini shijitaki most frequently tho studios like ADV occassionally have done it as well ie. Saiyuki

The shijitaki on my wall are a different size tho than the ones that come with DVD's. I forgot the sizing but, I believe shijitaki come in various sizes like B5 etc.

I think i can add a little bit to this list

6. Keep a record of who has borrowed DVDs and who has returned them in the past
7. Keep track of where you bought your dvds and for how much
8. Create box set listings and place single DVDs into that box set
9. Create your own listing for a DVD
10. There are links on the right hand side with all the actors names and voice actors too...click on them and DVDProfiler will show you every movie you own that they were either voices in (if you have lotsa anime) or acted in
11. Same thing with the producers...pretty awesome stuff

and theres sooo many more features...it's really an awesome program for any dvd aficionado to have ;)

actually its NOT...the disc changer has a Disc Explorer on it that lets you custom input all the titles into it...here go look at the example on HERE (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000A3XRSO/sr=8-2/qid=1154541579/ref=sr_1_2/102-6075198-4856946?ie=UTF8)

and when you get there...go click under the pic that says "Watch Flash Intro" :)
