Well i decided to make this thread b/c i just finished watching the show and wanted to get some stuff off of my head. Anyway there is alot of spoilers in this thread so im just saying it now, "If you havent seen the show yet don't come in!!!"Anyway a couple of question to start off with: At the very end of the show was it suppose to be Aion or just all of the evil intention of man???? What were Remington's sins???? Also in the doctrine wasn't the pope suppose to actually die???

Was it Aion or and Evil Intension of Man? Well I do believe that Aion was killed in Epi 23 . I think it was intended to show the evil in man, but this has always bothered me, maybe it was Aion. He always said he was the alpha and the omega, the start and the finish, the begining and the end.
Remingtons sins were him disobeying God. He failed to protect the Apostles and Rosette, for this he was casted down as a sinner(not the devil sinner).
Was the pope suppose to die? NO NO, the 3rd prophecy was never reveiled because someone actually tried to assasinate the Pope in 1981. He selaed it away to never be read.

But i thought at the end of the show it said that it was revealed in 2000??? Are you saying since someone tried to assassinate the Pope that he locked it away in 1981?? Just wondering b/c the text at the end of the show says it was revealed in the year 2000. Also what confused me about Aion was that he said "The end of one plot and the....." so i always thought that maybe he lived on just like god. Also AsukaxSohryux what's ur feelings on the end?? And do u think Azmaria would make a sw33t Sister :P

The 3rd prophecy was indeed revealed in 2000, and Pope John Paul II believed that the text referred to the failed assassination of '81, so I guess this makes it the 'official' meaning as accepted by the Church. However, this interpretation has been disputed and a few other (unofficial?) explanations were given to the prophecy.
There is a good wikipedia article on it if you want to know more about the three prophecies of Fatima (look for "Three secrets of Fatima")

According to what I know... the three secrets are:
(This would be so much easier if I could say it in portuguese)
- The Russian reconversion to Cristianism, after th Comunist period;
- The coming of World War II;
- And the murder attempt against John Paul II at Fatima, on the date 13/05/1981.

About your questions...
I always tought it was Aion that revived. After all he was(how should I say) the "Evil God".
About the second one I agree with AsukaxSohryux.
As for the third question...: No way!! The pope wasn't supposed to die!!
The third prophecy was in fact revealed in 2000 but it wasn't locked away in 1981. It was wrote long before(in the end of the 1930 decade) by Lucia and locked at that time. What hapenned is that the text was recovered in 1982 by the pope J.P.II and revealed in 2000 on his visit to Fatima's Sanctuary.

Also AsukaxSohryux what's ur feelings on the end?? And do u think Azmaria would make a sw33t Sister :P
I was kinda surprised when I saw that they died...
But now that I think about it it had to be that way. There is no way to escape fate and the Will of God and if you really think about it... It wouldn't have the same impact if that didn't happened...
Oh... and yes, she would make a great sister. ^_^

The emotions came rolling in the last 4 episodes. Who turned on the waterworks :P . Anyways, I agree with Restless that no one can escape fate and Gods Will. I do stand corrected on the 3rd prophecy, I was wrong and thanks to those who cleared it up. And yes Azmaria would make a great sister (cute one at that).

I was surprised and extremely upset. Throughout the whole series, I felt they were building up the whole idea that Chrno would find a way to save her. When that didn't happen, I felt robbed of everything I had just watched. It was sweet that they died together the way they did, but it would have been so much sweeter if they had lived together.
As for Hideki's questions, it looks like they've been answered pretty well.

I don't think they did that... Maybe you got that idea in some episodes(I did too) but the truth is that they never actually said they would find a way to save Rosette and, consequently, Chrono. In fact, the story says clearly that the only way to do that was if Chrono got back his horns. But this would never happen because Rosette and Chrono didn't want that to happen or their friendship(and everything else) would be lost.

i loved the ending. it was very sad, but very well done. because since Rosette is supposed to be the incarnation of Mary Magdalen, which Chrono failed to save, he gets a second chance to try and save rosette.. obviously, he fails, but at least this time they can go to rest together.
btw, i thought the three were:
1. the end of wwi
2. the coming of wwii and the rise of facism
3. the assassination of the pope

As I said, I felt that they built that up. In some episodes, they had Chrno comfort Rosette and tell her that he would find a way to save her. The story may have strongly pointed out it was not possible, but isn't overcoming all the odds something that anime does often? Chrno is a bastard. He gave me false hope. :(

Did anyone feel any sadness for Satella??? I actually felt more sad when Steiner died then when she did, just b/c Steiner is a butler and he should never die (anime rule IMO)!! Anyway thnx for answering the questions but i still want to continue this topic to hear more ppls opinions. Also do ppl actually think that in the last bit of the final episode that it was suppose to be Aion or just a symbol of the evil still in the world (aka about to kill the pope or attempt).

Heh, an anime rule eh? I was more shocked then saddened by Steiner's death. I just didn't see it coming. As for Satella, I didn't really feel as bad for her as I wanted to. Azmaria's song she sung for her was pretty touching though. I was completely torn by Rosette's death however. How she embraced Chrono and cried that she wanted to live just a little longer, that just killed me. I have the soundtracks and every time I hear the song that played during that sequence with Rosette and Chrono I can't finish it. I hate remembering that. :P
As for Aion I see him to be a symbol of evil. Evil will always exist and therefore people will always have faith in God. If evil was to perrish, then the people would not need a God. Aion exists to put the people's faith in God to the test.
I liked how they showed the picture that was taken at the fair after the credit roll. That was a nice touch.

Steiner's death seemed so meaningless until episode 23 were Chrono mentioned that it was his fault that people have died and he includes Steiner's name in it which was awesome IMO!!! Anyway i feel the same way about the Aion thing but if u think about it his horns are apart of the future while chrono's are the past.

Sorry, didn't want to start a new thread. Just got done with the series. I must say that I was disappointed. It wasn't the whole main characters dying that I had a problem with, it was just the final episode. Aion was still around, Remmington was wandering around, Joshua never showed us that final picture he was drawing! I don't know...I felt something was missing. Anyone else feel this way?

I agree 100%. I was disapointed with the ending as well, I was expecting something really epic to end it all.

^ I'm glad to see I'm not alone. The final fight with Aion was extremely disappointing and why was Remmington wandering around anyway? Yeah, epic was what I was looking for too, and it didn't happen at all.
