Astraea Hill - it is a sacred place where men cannot enter...

Aoi Nagisa transferred to the 4th grade(*) of St. Miatre Academy by some reason. On the very first day, she met “Etoile”, Hanazono Shizuma. Etoile is the leader of the whole students of the tree schools, and she was a girl of admiration. She has a large power and trust, at the same time, she must shoulder heavy responsibility and duty proportional to her power. Nagisa was fascinated by Sizuma’s beauty and she was frozen. On the other hand, looking into Nagisa’s face gently, Sizuma put her arms around Nagaisa’s shoulders and her face was approaching to Nagisa’s face... ^_^

No, it's April. The date is listed like it would be in Japan, Year/Month/Day (I myself list dates like this now, just picked it up). So it's April 12th.

Yaoi titles like Lovel C are licensed easy, but 100% Yuri titles with explicit full Girl x Girl relationship not. :crybaby:

For example... Queer as Folk in USA is "art while L-Word is "porn" for many stupid people. :mad:

Explanation, to avoid confusions I always use the word "yuri" like the people use in Japan. The word shoujo-ai is not used in Japan. So Strawberry Panic is "shoujo-ai" in USA but "yuri" in Japan.

Some people-- myself included-- use hentai to refer to anime/manga porn regardless of the gender of the participants (though I use it less for BL (yaoi)).

what are you talking about kannaduki got license and that's probablly one of the most explict shoujo ai show out there for the time being.
just because there are more shounen ai shows doesn't has anything to do with their licensing and i'm sure kashimashi and most of 2006's shoujo ai will lisence in no time.

(sorry it's just that i really like shounen ai and wanted to make it clear both genres need more luck in usa, not only shoujo ai (which i also like alot btw))

you're correct but Kashimashi specificlly is comedy/romance (shoujo ai or not) and this genres is very liked in the us.. ^^

Who knows. Eclipse can release stuff subbed 13 hours after it aired, but some groups may take a week till they finally release an episode. But in general, usually it's 2-4 days after the episode airs, in my experience.

That's been my vague impression of her from what I've read of the manga so far (chapters 1-4).
There's pretty much a whole chapter devoted to introducing the place where the girls go to fool around (the library). So yes, there is a pretty major leaning towards that sort of fanservice so far. I'm guessing the anime will be along the same lines, but who knows?

It would be awesome if Lililicious did it, but I think that Dynasty Scans is the only group that has translated any of the manga so far. At least to my knowledge. They've done a good job with the Kashimashi manga though, so I don't mind their releases.

Just saw ep 1 (raw). Very cute. Shizuma (the greyed haired girl) is like Sachiko, Sei, and Chikane roled into one (the wink she gives Nagisa at the end is so Sei). Tamao (blued haired girl) seems like a Tomoyo clone (calls Nagisa cute repeately). So we have love triangle going. The ED features Mai and Ai (the Seriyuus) doing the shoujoai thing. The OP is pretty good (my favorite part with the four girls doing the power rangers pose (the two youngest girls, the green haired girl, and the girl with red flowers in her hair)). I heard that the show might be two 12-13 seasons, which I hope, because there are too many characters.

As for any fansubs, there's some debate over on a certain site whether that site can display the fansubs because Media Factory is sponsoring it (they didn't do any producing).

this anime is looking good so far, its neat how girl/girl relationships seem to be the "normal thing" rather then Taboo, im half expecting one of the characters (man are there ever allot) to have a secret boyfriend and it be handled the way girl/girl usually is (lots of confusion and self doubt), im glad that its not "fanservicy" (when someone fallsdown the view doent go up-skirt and stuff) and i like the characters Nagisha is sweat heart straight girl starting to border on confusion.

I read the first three chapters of the manga for Strawberry Panic. It was a little too smutty for me, but it happens. In any case, I was talking to someone who had seen the anime and had had a very different then mine. Thus, I decided to try it out and watched the first episode. That is a decision I came to regret. The characters came off as dry and lifeless. I didn't want to learn more about them or even see them as much as I did.

I don't ever plan on watching more of it. It's just... it feels cheap and doesn't entertain me. Good shoujo-ai seems to be harder and harder to comeby these days. I would love to see more stuff like MariMite, but Strawberry Panic is not my style at all.

Yes. The manga runs in Dengeki G's magazine. Chapter 7 is due out in the next issue, which will be coming out at the end of the month (it's a monthly magazine). As far as I know the original short text stories appeared in Dengeki G's but have ended. There is a collected volume of them out, illustrated by the same person who does the manga. There's also one collected volume (tankoubon) of the manga out so far, comprising chapters 1-6.

I too am following this one. (Hi all BTW) I wasn't too impressed with Shizuma's character at first, but after seeing episode six, I'm taking a shine to her. Nagisa's much more comfortable with her and she's not as predatory as before.

Hmmmm...I noticed something with the school's love triangles (or should I say, squares): Nagisa has a her roommate hot for her (Tamao), as well as a kouhai (Chiyo), but Nagisa *seems* to be hot for her senpai, Shizuma. Hikari has her roommate (Yaya) hot for her, as well as a kouhai (can't remember her name-the pink haired girl), but Hikari is hot for Amane, her senpai. And it looks like Le Rim has the same love *square*. :heart: They all have the same pattern, WTF!

Yaya is makeing the same mistake Chikane did by getting the person she loves to spend time with someone else, thinking only about the other person's happiness and not of her own. and it's eating her up inside. though i don't think it will be as bad for Yaya as it was for Chikane I also don't think it will end as happilly for her as it did Chikane (since Hikari obviously love's Amane.... this is the first time I've wished equally for someone to pair up since i like both Amane (a.k.a the prince) and Yaya)

Oh, fair enough. There definately are lesbians in the cast, that is for certain but there are definately a host of characters that probably haven't defined their sexuality for themselves yet. A lot of feelings shown are just those of innocent young girls without regard to romantic or sexual motivations. I just don't think it's fair to label them all lesbians based on what we've seen in ten episodes.

Having said that, I truly hope that Shizuma has much success in convincing Nagisa. XD

That depends on your point of view. The manga has nudity and sexual situations, but only on the Negima level. Nothing graphic. Likewise, the anime has even less nudity, but the tension is turned WAY up.

I'd say it's like all the characters from Maria-sama ga Miteru started DOING the things they were only thinking about.

As far as I know, you can see expanding breasts almost anywhere. (And Nagisa is a growing girl!) One thing you can't see everywhere, though, is a nun playing lifeguard. Didn't that lady just seem so ready and equipped to save children caught in undertow?

Well, while waiting for my KnM dvd to come, I started watchingg this on Youtube. I have seen the first episode, and I am liking this Yuri too :). I love the cutesy main characters, and Aoi is one that takes the cake. I think this series will grow on me, it seems funny enough.

She's like this 'cause she lost someone very dear to her. Her most important and beloved person..........and I think she still loves her......that's why she stopped with that flashback.......And if you think that Shizuma is jealous here.....in the manga she's more...... ^_^ All to protect her dear Nagisa....

Probably. I like Tamao, but I'm more of a Nagisa+Shizuma fan. Well...actually, it's up in the air for me. I really do like Tamao, and I think Shizuma is too forceful, but something about Shizuma makes me sympathize with her. I'd probably be fine with either pair in the end.

Well, I, for one, Like Tamao and Aoi, they are really cute together, not that Shizuma and Aoi aren't, but I think Aoi just has a cuter flow with Tamao. Shizuma is cute when she is shy and like in the 6th episode when she was crying at the window... I felt really bad for her =(. I don't know who to favor, they are both nice candidates =(.

Also, I see Ms. Sakaki in Shizuma now, has anyone else? xD

As for Hikari, I think I like Amane and Hikari, but whats just because I haven't seen much of Yaya yet I suppose. Still, it's an Renai adventure game, and American gamers are notorious with their preference of game mechanics over story, unfeeling badasses over characters that act like humans, and English over the original language. <_< So, best to import it. Import it and pray. ^_^

Wow... Just saw 10, and boy.. it hit me. It was the episode Shizuma and Tamao are helping Nagisa with her French. I was pretty much on the line with wanting a Aoi/Tamao ending...but the way this episode ended... I am in big favor to each. I just finished it and it hit me so bad I am almost crying for them =(. They are so awesome with eachother. I will be disappointed with the ending no matter how it goes. I will really feel bad for whoever doesn't get Aoi. She is a sweet girl, and everyone loves her... May the best girl win her T_T.

I am a real softie, I can't help it =\. This series hits me too much...everyone is just so... nice and loving to eachother... its too cute =(

Well, I try seeing it in the character's point of view, more than comedy. I actually completely understood what Kaname was talking about with the gases, so I suppose thats why I never found it funny O.o..Sorry all, but i still see her as a *****....Yaya, still love her, but really should have just talked to Hikari instead of the kiss at first. She should have told Hikari that she has fallen in love with her over the time she has known her, and doesn't want to give her away...then maybe kiss. Just kissing without words like that may rub off the wrong kind of message. Like I said, for all she knows, Kaname COULD have gotten to Yaya, what does she know? I see her more as a toy Amane bought...everyone is trying to play with her, yet amane bought her heart, and she desires to be with her. Maybe I am getting too much into this ^^;

Amane: WANTS to be with Hikari, and loves her, but feels upset not to be there whenever she is needed. She also feels that this whole Etoile thing is ruining her love life and chances at anything.

Hikari: Wants to be with Amane, but after the incident with Yaya, I think she is understanding Yaya a bit more, afterall, she never really was there to hear out Yaya, but Yaya was always there for her. She shows no true sign of love to Yaya, but an unbreakable FRIENDSHIP bond. I too, hope something sparks in her to liking Yaya, but the fact is that I like Amane too... whoever gets her gets her I suppose, may the best girl win.

Yaya: She seems to be really heartbroken, but after the incident, she only wanted to be friends with Hikari. When they made up, I think she feels completely down, and feels her chances with Hikari has hit rock bottom and that she might only be suitable for friend. This point hit me hard, and for that, I really want Hikari to start a liking more with Yaya.

Tsubomi: Seems everyone forgets that Tsubomi tries to get on this little fight here. I am not really in for Tsubomi being with Hikari, but she tries to hang in there xD.
