knoppix (Linux's Distribution)

You dont need to install (and HDD!!) it. it can do cd-boot.
This can be used to repair windows.
It can easily enjoy linux without making partition.

You do know that Linux is not associated with Firefox, right?

In fact, Linux is not even a brand or company, it is just a product of various sources who have worked on their own version. The only thing I see similar is that they are both open source.

People use Microsoft and IE because that's what their computer comes with. If people were given a choice when buying a computer, then there would be more diversity. Thankfully (Netscape), at least we can now get rid of IE.

By the way, Lionfish, do you have a Laptop (media laptop)? Your resolution is the same as my old widescreen Dell.

You can let Linux edit your partiton, or you can use a progam in Windows. I think the Win one is called Partition Magic (or something like that). I would trust Linux more, but if you don't know what you're doing, don't do anything at all. You must know that if you partition over (or even sometimes a re-partition) will write over a current one, and you will lose all your data.

The game itself to me seemed kind of quick, but I loved alot of the smaller things of it - physics, rag dolls, anti gravity gun. I play more HL 1.5 mods (CS 1.6 and DoD 1.3 more than anything else). Although for an update in graphics and engine it is an improvement. I too expected more, but perhaps the new episodes they are releasing will finish up?

Over all I am a fan of FPS and puzzle/RPG. Sims are ok, as well as the occasional sports.

By the way, if you have a recommendation for a wallpaper that's 1280 x 1024, let me know. It's hard finding ones for this resolution.

You would rather install it in another HDD than install vista and XP in one HDD.
After all, this is a beta version. There are some troubles. But β2 has improved from β1.

The only thing is, banning by IP is somewhat unstable. It may lock out people who have not even seen the site before if you have a host like AOL. Plus it's easy to get around.

If I had such a large forum, I would get more admins and require approval of new members. Somewhat like what AMV.org does with a 2 week wait in principle.

The reason I cannot install Vista yet is because there is trouble connecting to the MSDNAA. As I am getting this since I am a student, I have to obtain it a certain way. The program to download Vista can only be run from IE. It takes much time to download (1% every 5 minutes on average), and is prone to error any time from the 1-100%. On retry I found that my student account had run out of licenses, and I needed to e-mail my computer admin from college. It is very much a hassle to go through.
